Another New Yankee Style Router Table

The lower base had some runners attached to slide in the t track, and a couple of guide blocks attached to the top Above you can see how it sits on the table top.

Another New Yankee Style Router Table

Ok well the next set of pictures haven't come that soon, but they are hear now. Following on from the fence plans I cut all the pieces, cut slots, drilled holes etc. I am making a rather over complicated fence based on the basic new yankee design but also incorporating the micro adjustment...

American Table Saw on UK power

Doesn't really answer your question but my unisaw has the 50 hz marathon motor described by Noel above. I would thoroughly recommend a unisaw if you can get one. If you can't I'd go for the xcalibar. Mark

    Tormek 7 and 2000

Apologies for slight thread hijack but anyone know where to get a new stainless steel shaft for a 2000 for a reasonable price? Can't help thinking £50 is somewhat steep http://www.axminster.co.uk/tormek-torme ... rod818029/ Mark

    Wall mounted guest fee box.

How about a small metal cash box screwed to the wall. Probably about £10. You would just need to cut a small slot. Mark

    Automatic wire strippers

Hi I asked the other day about ratchet crimpers, thanks for the advice on that. As I've got a bit of electrical work to do I thought I might treat myself to a set of automatic wire strippers. Are they any good? Is there a best brand? Something like this...

    Crimp Tools

Hopefully this is not breaking the rules as its not strictly a woodwork tool but is being bought to do some wiring of woodwork equipment. I have a crappy crimp tool that came in some cheap kit years ago and I wouldn't pay £1 for. Time to buy a semi decent one. The ratchet ones look good...

Dewalt DW733 or makita 2012NB thicknesser

Yes same machine, cutter head lock works fine, just thought the slack would make it hard to use properly but you confirm not. Now do I actually need one or do I just WANT one??? Mark

Dewalt DW733 or makita 2012NB thicknesser

If you need to change the height by let's say 0.05 mm to get a nice round number on the readout, how easy is that with the slack in the handle? Mark

Dewalt DW733 or makita 2012NB thicknesser

How easy is it to set subsequent heights/thickness accurately. I find with mine that the winding handle has a fair bit of slack in it and can't imagine being able to dial in a nice round number on the wixey. Which would annoy me. Mark

    Dust extractor tripping electrics

My table saw tripped the electrics every time when I first bought it I had to have the breaker in the consumer unit changed so it could handle the initial surge of power on start up Sounds like you might have a similar problem The fix was cheap and quick for my electrician Mark

Spiral ducting fittings - rubber sealed fittings

It has caught my eye as I want to make some home made blast gates and I think a flange with a rubber seal would make a good transition from wooden gate to metal ducting. Then I don't have to worry how to seal that end. The flanges are about £3 each, 2 per gate and the rest from the scrap box...
