    Howdens kitchen/built in dishwasher

I've just moved and have a Howdens kitchen with built in Currys essentials dishwasher. I think the dishwasher is a 6ID60W12 (possibly 61D60W12). There are 2 problems with it. First I need to get the wooden door off the front to get to the screws holding the handle on, because the handles...

    Euro locks

Thanks Robin and Dean, I'll have another look tomorrow if no one else comes along with any ideas. Wizard the Yale and deadlock from the wooden doors in my old house are of no use to me here. Mark

    Euro locks

Thanks Robin I have now got the awkward cylinder out, had to be angled perfectly and was also tight, but out to measure and back in now. I still cant work out how to get the centre strip off the french doors to uncover the lock, there is nothing to unscrew. Anyone? Mark

    Euro locks

My second q refers to my French doors. One side no prob. The other side has the middle joining strip attached. How do I get it off to get to the screw holding the cylinder? I thought it might be fixed behind the locking plates but it's not. Anyone know? Mark

Packing up workshop for house move

The process of buying my new house has dragged on longer than I anticipated but I now have a completion date. So I'm now in the middle of packing up the workshop. I've decided to put the machines and wood in storage for a few weeks. Removers are going to move the bench, storage cupboards...

Suspended Joist floor...Which Grade Plywood for sub-floor?

I insulated my suspended timber floor with celotex between the joist a number of years ago. I then just laid the original victorian boards back down on the joists and sanded them. I'm very happy with the result. If you fit the celotex tight between the joists and flush with the top I'm not...

    Euro locks

Thanks Setch Having read by requirements again insurance wise, the way I now read it is that as long as my PVC doors have 3 point locking system(which I'm sure they will) they will be insurance compliant? The "or" seems to seperate the BS standard from the 3 point system as a requirement. So...

    Euro locks

This thread has been very timely for me. I am very soon to move house, the property previously rented so a desire on my part to change the barrels in the PVC doors. I appreciate there are numerous ways to break in, the change of barrels is to prevent a previous key holder simply walking in...

    Garage door security

Thanks Al Looks like the first ones can be locked/unlocked from either side and the second one needs locking from the inside? Mark

    Garage door security

At the moment I want to be able to still get in the big door as access via the side door is a bit restrictive. Also it will be a temporary workshop but ultimately I would like a seperate shop so security measures that will long term be garage suitable are required. Therefore I may add thin...

    Garage door security

I'm (hopefully) soon to move house. First time I'll have had a garage with a double up and over door. Having learned what I need to do to the euro locks on my house doors when I move in, I though t it would be a good idea to get an idea on my options for securing the garage door. I'm talking...

Packing up workshop for house move

Thanks for all the replies so far I contacted the local self storage and had a pleasant surprise to the cost. Not sure how insurance will increase it yet and I'll need to hire a van twice to fill it and empty it again, but surprised none the less. I think I will probably buy some interlocking...
