    Ants in lawn

What makes you think I don't have moles? I'm surprised you have caught that many, they are solitary unless mating and very territorial. I usually find when I catch one I don't get another for ages, until a new one happens upon my empty network of tunnels and moves in. Or you must have a...

    Ants in lawn

Anyone had any success at getting rid of them? I've tried a few powders from the garden centre (though can't remember exactly which products) with little success. Boiling water is the other thing tried. I'm fed up of laying on the grass and them crawling over me and the dog Mark

    Tiling a roof

Mark I've just started researching the same thing as I want to replace the concrete tiles on my garage with plain clay tiles. The garage roof pitch is 27 degrees so below the minimum most manufacturers recommend. Plus I want sprockets at the eaves thereby reducing it even more. Is this an...

    Painting over creosote

I have an old shed in the house I've been in a few months. Inside it looks (and smells) like its been creosoted and in places feels a bit oily. presuming it is traditional creosote, can it be painted over. (The outside is normal paint and in decent nick) Thanks Mark

Building a Bike / Tool Shed - Roofing and Painting

Hi Chris Looks great so far Can I ask where you got the rebated feather edge boards from? I looked a while ago and couldn't find any locally. Are they pressure treated soft wood? 6 or 8 inch? Thanks Mark

    Customer service.

Yes I've translated that too, but i'd like confirmation from someone who has tried them that they fit correctly. Unfortunately I've also translated the shipping page that doesn't seem to have an option of international, but I guess they could be asked. I've sent an email asking about UK...

    Shed roof felt

Thanks Mike, I could only see green when I looked, not sure how I didn't see that. And Wickes is my closest DIY shed. Now the only prob with it is the length, I'd need 2. If it was 10m x1m I'd only need one. Grrrrr Mark

    Shed roof felt

Been in my new house 6 months now. Next job is re-felting the old shed roof. All the diy places seem to stock green felt. I want either black or dark grey. It also needs to be flexible and not crack when bent over as the pitch is 45 degrees so I need to bend it 90 degrees over the ridge without...

    Mad4Mowers

Mad4mowers seem to be the online shop of Broadfield Mowers, a standard Sheffield Stihl dealer. I rand them today, line strimmers and kombi line strimmers are not classed as bladed machines so do not need collecting and this should be the same for any Stihl dealer, nothing being done on the...

    Mad4Mowers

flying haggis the AC is not listed in the current catalogue. Possibly replaced by the FS? I spoke with one dealer today who told me to buy the line strimmer (I assume the FS), then get the head later to allow the solid blade brush cutter to be attached (which would be about £30) Maybe the FS...

    Mad4Mowers

If I go kombi rather than buying a dedicated strimmer I was leaning towards the KM 94 RC-E, which is a new model, v similar in spec to the 90. Mark

Paulm I take it you are using a loop handle? According to the 2015 catalogue you can have that or handlebars. Handlebars are much easier for general strimming but I assume impossible for most other tasks with the combi, at least any of the up in the air ones. Mark
