ColeyS1 I am cool with it. They will be sorted in no time. I don’t know any use of back bevel in woodworking ( on chisels) so didn’t expect to see on those chisels. I will send phil a bill as per £50/h. lol just joking But with regards to Axminster tools. I would definitely keep away from them...

I was not impressed as it was not mentioned before. It was from someone who knows his way around the tools ( I assume ). I will get them sorted soon.

I agree that sharpening will take care of it. Not a big deal. Just not impressed.

I have now received the Stanley chisels. Not really impressive. Steel feels okay but seems they were used as a screwdriver and can opener. Back bevel ?!! Secondary bevel skewed !!! Chipped edge and corners !!!

I am always happy to learn from fellow woodworkers. That’s why I have been using Aldi chisels proudly. The funny thing is some experienced woodworkers don’t follow their own lectures. Although they advocate old chisels then when you see them in action they are using other chisels. The hypocrisy...

Now that I have almost all chisels I need, I am going to start searching for good shiny planes. I am happy to receive offers of nice shiny Clifton, Veritas or Lie Nielsen planes with a flat plane sole and shsrp cutting iron. Bronze body planes are accepted as well. :evil:

By the way after I bought a set of Ashley Iles chisels our UKWORKSHOP fellow generously offered me a very reasonable price and I provided a new home for the chisels. Two new set of chisels to test.
