Osmo polyx oil on white chalk paint?

I made some floating shelves for the kitchen from redwood a year or so ago, putting them up unfinished. It looked good for a couple of months but soon attracted all manner of grime and I've decided to go for a different look. The other day I took them down and gave them a coat of white chalk...

    Tennis elbows

Thanks Sawtooth, that's encouraging! Where there's a will, there's a way. Perhaps I can still do what I want to do, just at a different speed and with more care. I've noticed that my movements have already started adjusting for damage limitation and to compensate, without me consciously...

    Tennis elbows

My doctor said she didn't want to give me the injections as they degrade the cartilage and should only be used as a last resort. Doesn't sound good! Yes, I will avoid. Also, avoiding certain movements really seems to help.

    Tennis elbows

Thanks Bharath, what a kind message. My doctor told me to stop doing the things that caused it and get lots of rest, so I did, and it got better. My elderly neighbour said that she had it and the cortisol injections cleared it up, but she could hardly lift a cup of tea and mine is more the...

    Tennis elbows

I wondered what experiences people have had with this condition when it comes to working wood. I've worked a lot of different jobs in my life, nearly all physical. I laboured for different trades when I was a youngster: plasterers, screeders, brickies, and I scaffolded for about 15 years. Now...

Mine aren't perfect - if the photos were clearer you'd see some clear imperfections. It's all about the trying, right? 🙂

😂 Yes the walls are just thin ply with white paint slapped on top, one of those (1,000,000) jobs that didn't get finished and there's always something more 'important' to do first! I saw that style of patching on Instagram by an (I think) American lady called Audi Culver of Siosi Design. Love...

    T Track newbie

I'm in a similar boat to you John when it comes to these t-track jigs, despite having the housings for them on my trend crt router table and I think my hammer n4400 bandsaw table top has it too 🤔 So hopefully someone can enlighten us...

Thank you for the welcome! Yes, keeping my finger off the lense (and the woodworking equivalents) is all I need to feel like I'm winning some days

Thank you - it doesn't feel it, it's been going on for a couple of months now, I'm just winging it one step at a time whenever I can get in there. Not sure how strong the joints are going to be but hopefully strong enough 💪🏻 guess I won't know till the end, but will learn either way
