    While crosscutting on a RAS, remember which side of the pencil line goes on which side of the blade. :oops: Remember to SECURELY CLAMP the piece of wood in the drill press. :x ALWAYS keep a roll of toilet paper handy next to the work bench. It helps clean up the blood, and dry the tears! :cry:

    Radial Arm Saw

    Had my DW RAS for about 10 years. Great saw except for the $&^)^$!! table that has to be aligned far too often. Bump it and you are out!Out!Out! Use for all my crosscut as i got my hands on a 2nd hand Rockwell table saw (excellent price) which i use for ripping and large sheets. :D :D

    Thanks Restorer. I have put it all aside till the weekend. (on my way to Cape Town on business). I drilled some of the parts for 6 & 8 mm dowel pins for rejoining. Thought that might be strong enough. :D

    Ok, 5 tries later, lots of cursing, stress. :x :x :x How would you go about making up those small broken corners and getting the right profile? :? :? Tried router, maybe some different bits?

    Thanks Chris. I had another 2 mirrors same size which i had cut, 1 length & 1 width. Now another 4 frames to do. Will use same wood but try vary the pattern on the surface. Have to fing a lot moe "round-tuits"! :D :D

    I eventually founf a "round-tuit" to post pic. It weighs in at 8.5kg's, used a chain and rawl bolt to hang it. This is at youngest son pad. :D :D

    Norman, i have got some Rustins medium oak dye and will mix it with Danish oil bit by bit till i get right shade. total finish will Danish. i am now on the THIRD piece trying to get the right profile! will leave it for a few days - else something's going to come off second best. :D :D
