Retraining at a (slightly) older age.

Been there done that... except in my case in reverse. I WANTED an office job..!! Start at 9 instead of 7...luxury... Inside desk job all year, nice and cosy... But the bitching, the back stabbing, your face doesn't fit, incompetent managers along with those perfectly fitted the Dilbert...

@Just4Fun and @MusicMan.... i found if you just ease off the throttle the same as you normally would in your ICE car, so you end up almost coasting(?) but still maintaining 50ish lets say, then you can see from the fangled graphic display that you're also regenerating. All clever stuff....

    Electric vehicles

I didn't, i was merely stating that i along with millions of others would not class my self as 'rich'. So we (me and the co driver "what does this button do..?" 👉👉 😂 ) took the Niro4+ ev out today for a jaunt of 120 miles or so in the pouring rain, and Oh... My... Fffflippin'... God... what...

    Electric vehicles

I certainly wouldn't class myself as rich in any sense of the word. I do wonder if the so called subsidies are just a means of keeping the price of ev's (or anything that attracts a subsidy) artificially high, i.e. take away the subsidy, sales drop, car manufacturers reduce price of cars by...

@Just4Fun I'm also interested. Have just put 'ev in sub zero temperature' into you tube and there's several interesting videos from ev owners. Having test driven an ev (albeit briefly) the adjustable regen is very handy. In town with max regen selected you can almost get away with braking...

Pretty miffed at the (lack of) response

I've been there too. Lent a rocking horse to a friend for her granddaughter. It had taken me months to refurbish from a rotten water soaked unloved and abandoned in the garden toy, back to a lovely toy that any little child would love... I then got a call nearly 2yrs later asking if i wanted...

Thanks guys... it would be nice to hardwire it and i am looking at how i can do it  Just a thought.... occasionally we have to unplug the Echo device and reboot as she(?) sometimes has a 'tantrum'....might be worth trying on the doorbell.?

    Calling plastic gurus...

Having worked with epoxies for 20+ years this is a very good shout... except dont put the test blob where the break is, just incase it is a good bond and you then cant put glue where you actually want it...

    Smart tv

We've gota top of the range 58" Panasonic in the lounge that does Freeview & Freesat, it magically turns ANY tv program into 3, but its not a 3D tv 😮 But its awesome. From Richer Sounds (they give 6yr warranties) We have a 4K Hisense 43" in the bedroom. Cheap as chips from Argos. And we have a...

    Pen Kits

Would agree with the above advice, but also add in.... depends on the type/style of pen you want to turn. If its going to be mainly slimline style then i'd say try Fun-e-turns on ebay (cant remember the exact spelling) but know she will mix'n'match colours even on smaller quantities. Axminster...

    Mobile Phone Advice

Phones are a bit like American politics (generally...) you're either a Republican or a Democrat i.e. an Apple or a Samsung lover (other 'parties' are available...) they all do the same thing, or not, depending on what you want. As for phones try this site... Buy refurbished and pre loved from...

This thread caught my eye.... We're also about to have a flat roof to the front of our house redone as it could 'do with it', approx 28sqmtrs. Currently (proper) hot melt tar ashfelt as done by the builder when the house was built some 30 odd yrs ago. No blisters but is showing some cracking...
