    Quangsheng parts

Thanks all, sparked interesting debate there. I do also understand that it might be a bit optimistic to expect parts to be readily available anywhere really, given the relatively low volume of these things that are sold, when compared to main brand power tools etc. Speaking of, been on the hunt...

    Quangsheng parts

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows of a sourch of quangsheng plane parts? Other than workshop heaven, who have been ignoring my requests for about three weeks even though the lady on the phone said they probably had what i need in stock! Quite frustrating. My quangsheng rebate block plane...

    Small CNC Job

Does anyone have a CNC they're able to cut some lettering with? 2 boards, 6 letters a word/board, words approx 70mm high, 450 wide. 10mm deep cut in composite oak board. One bold lettering and one quite narrow. If anyone's interested that would be great, I can prep the boards and we can post...

    Wanted Planer/Thicknesser wanted

Just moved units and upgrading a few things - most needed is a decent planer thicknesser, ideally 240v and 300 wide. Tersa or spiral block preferred. Decent budget for the right machine. Long shot but just missed a couple of online sales so thought I'd cast the net, thanks!

    Serious skills

Youtube suggested me some videos of a guy forging and making his own tool similar to the hooked hollowing tool, out of a bearing casing, a korean guys channel by the looks of it. see here he doesnt seem to use it to such effect though... ive yet to master the skew, but this makes me want to try

    14 ins face plate.

I think abrasive sheets with spray contact adhesive onto a suitable backer might be the usual thing? then you can get any or as much coverage as you need...

    Motor switch misbehaving

A little while ago my TS stopped turning on, i looked everywhere for why that might be and eventually discovered a break in the power cable at a certain point, so the power is back. However in my investigations i took apart the switch, which I have apparently put back together wrong as it is...

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

Im not sure no, but i will check next time to feel what the motor housing feels like - and perhaps Ttrees is right and its a centrifugal switch issue, no idea how to check that though! Does only seem to happen when I put it under load for a while, though ive not used it much the last few months...

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

I have an itech copy of this saw and this is all really handy to see. Ive only had it a few months but it seems to reach thermal cutout too rapidly and i wonder whether its because there is no fan, as I never recall noticing one on the motor. Ill check when im next in, but if not, im wondering...

    More motor trouble

Sorry. my pillar drill keeps sending me back needing help... Replaced my 3ph motor for an appropriate 240. All well, used it for an hour or so almost non stop the other day. Today, i pressed the on button, and there was a bright blue spark, and no further movement. The engine hums if i press...

Pillar drill motor change - too much power?!

Great, thanks. I will check re: shaft size, theres a fair bit of travel on the motor tensioning travel rods so i think that might be ok. More interesting to know about the inverter though, i wonder whether it had the capabilities all along. It was only a £50/60 jobby so i dont expect it had...

Pillar drill motor change - too much power?!

My old meddings' 3 phase motor decided to stop getting along with the cheapo chinese inverter that had served it pretty well for a few years. Rather than blow loads of cash on a better inverter seems to be sensible to just get a 240v replacement and do away with the faff the inverter brings...

Porch beam replacement - any thoughts?

How do all, I am to be replacing a beam in a small porch that has more or less completely rotted away. On inspection, it seems to be the only part of the porch to have suffered, though who knows what can of worms removing it will uncover. Ill support the two sides of the porch, and was going...
