    50" guide clamp

Bought as one of a pair, but Ive only ever used its twin, and dont foresee ever needing to use two at once. Very useful, I have used it a lot for biscuiting, but is a very versatile accessory. Can be seen here £18 collected from Brighton/Hassocks, or postage added. Thanks

Water based finishes, the most incognito...

Thanks very much, i had wondered about osmo raw, ive seen a floor it was used on, which was already fairly light, and thought id looked a bit limed, so maybe it was the stronger version. I think an oil based finish will just always be too darkening and anything with pigment/whitener wont look...

Water based finishes, the most incognito...

I am building some kitchen units which are clad with reclaimed pine boards, as per clients request. They are nice boards, with one aged side which has gone quite dark which will be the faces. However, the tricky thing is the finish. They need sealing, theyll soak up oily cooking hand prints like...

    Large Long Dowel Rods

Hello all, trying to source some long (2.4m ideally) and large (1"+) hardwood dowel. Does anyone know of a stockist? Or have the neccesary equipment and be willing to make and sell me some? The web hasnt thrown anything up immediately obvious, maybe its something you would usually make yourself...

Putting bevel (side) edges onto a chisel

Ive just been watching some videos of chiseling as you do and had a thought. Lots of my good chisels are car boot treasure which I have brought back into good working order, good ages and makers, but a lot of them are straight edged, and id like to have a few more bevel edged at my disposal...

Let’s see your photos of the nicest tree’s you’ve seen

Have just been away driving around france and spain and in Millau there was a really amazing pair of plane trees that had been trained to shade a huge area of the open square, didnt take any pictures but I managed to find this on google which doesnt really convey how mightily broad theyd got them

    Baltic Birch Plywood Sheets ££

I get mine from Covers and although I tend to buy more than just a sheet or two at a time, they sell me their 18mm for 50-something a sheet. Quality has always been fine.

    Sanders gone bust

Glad I remembered to come back and look at this. I didnt give them a super deep clean but I took the seals off, whizzed them with air and wd40 for a while a couple of times each way, bit of lube and put the seals back on, they are working ok so far but i didnt expect them to go on too long...

    Sanders gone bust

I found that page as well, but as far as i can tell that's just an oil seal. i appreciate your advice AES but I have searched fairly thoroughly through the main online retailers revealed by google and the only sources I got to were two international industrial distributors for around 20 pounds...

    Sanders gone bust

I been beat :| To put this to bed for anyone researching in the future: At the time of posting, the required 32x12x7 sealed bearings can only be ordered in especially from european wholesalers (CWbearings) at a cost that is ≥ the cost of the Metabo spare part. The alternative is to...

    Sanders gone bust

Sorry to dredge this back up by ive finally got around to getting a couple of pictures of the offending bearing(s), and it looks to me like bad news... they appear to be stamped onto a sort of arbor arrangement, so the only ways to go would be release them and replace but im not sure how to...

    Heavy duty old power tools

Well i think IIll stick them up as a job lot on ebay, and if they dont go then ill post again and anyone who wants any/all of them can have them for postage costs. I like the idea of cleaning them up but realistically ive got way too many hobbies and unfinished projects already. Thanks all!

    Heavy duty old power tools

Im just having a clear out in preparation for car boot tomorrow, and going through an ex shopmates hoarde i found these old beasts. Are they worth anything to anyone, for restoration or otherwise? Doesnt look like theyd go for much on ebay and seems a shame to chuck em. The two with plugs fired...
