    Problem with Bosch GTS 10

I don’t think those are your problem. If they were damage caused during use they would be on every section of the rotor. I suspect they are where the manufactures have removed material to balance the item. There is little evidence of burning on the commutator but first thing to check is the...

    Under the kitchen sink....

I’m constantly involved in rental upgrades. We fit these as standard. Saves the struggle of getting to the valve in an emergency. Obviously only an ‘on’ and ‘off’ function. https://www.screwfix.com/p/surestop-remote-stop-****-push-fit-15mm/48604

I specify a lot of decorating. We use Caparol Amphibolin for general hard wearing paintwork and Isomat Kitchen and bathroom if we need mould resisting paint. Both from Paintshack. https://paintshack.co.uk/collections/caparol-products/products/amphibolin...

    Curtains - so annoying

Your rings are rather too small for the pole size, but apply silicone lubricant and it will make a considerable difference. Spray can from the likes of Screwfix. Avoid waxes and furniture polish as they collect the dust and make thing worse in the long term!

    overlapping glass in greenhouse

My wife thinks i’m mad, but, I really like windows like that and have spotted a few over the years. A shed on a back road in Shere (on the approach to the ford). The old cabinet makers shop behind the now closed Manns store in Cranleigh. If I ever get to build my new shed it will have a window...

Decent curtain track for a rectangular bay window?

Silent Gliss 1080 for hand drawn track. Silent Gliss 3000 for corded. You will have to get it bent as it needs a hydraulic bender and nylon fillers. It will last a lifetime. To lubricate please use silicon lubricant spay, furniture polish will work short term but tends to gum things up , so...

    Tv coaxial

Yes it can be done, I have done it in the past over sensible distances. I’m sure that there IS signal loss but I doubt it will cause you problems and the fittings to do it are cheap so worth a try! As it was a long time ago I just looked it up! You have to go to bnc/ rj35 balun and find a...

Repairing leaking ballcock - advice please.

Hi Stan Firstly a couple of ‘be careful ‘ items! The cistern material may well contain asbestos…..no real issue just don’t cut / sand etc….no reason why you would! the other thing is the big rust stain in the background of the picture. It is all that is left of the original fixing screws. Don’t...
