    A mate of mine used some of those serious double sucker thingies that are used for moving plate glass to move the ones he got on FB Marketplace. IIRC about 6 on 'em with 6 bods with some very careful co-ordination whilst lifting/moving. Would a reciprocating saw with a long thin blade help...

    I would be inclined to explain to the custard the problems you have identified together with the ramifications, put it in writing to them and get their signature agreeing to the works as explained, warts and all. This might seem a bit OTT but when the job is finished and payment due it's not...

    You can't replace a push button with a lever as this would require drilling a hole in the side of the cistern (best of luck with that if you try!).

    Sorry Joe, I'm going to have to back out of the sale. The wife has just rung me to say that she had to spend £150 for a new tyre on her car after running over half a house brick in the road which did for the sidewall!! :mad: Hope you find another buyer soon. P.

    One can but try. The heat in the glue may well help with the wax. Perhaps a test joining of two scraps of the materials together would be useful. Best to degrease and perhaps roughen the surface of the pvc though.

    This chap uses hot glue to stick the tubes to the blast gate which he says is better than silicone. See at 4.37.
