Firing strips are used to introduce a fall on a flat roof construction to allow drainage of rainwater to a suitable gully/gutter.

I'd hardly call using end feed fittings good quality. Would look a lot better with solder ring fitting properly soldered.

All well and good until someone wants to draw off hot water. There will be a pretty good chance that the cold water from the feed tank will bypass the cylinder and flow up through the unit to the hot tap (but will deliver cold water therefrom). Remember water likes to follow the line of least...

I did think of a band saw blade but went for the clock spring as that will already be formed into a curve.

Don't know what they are called or where to get one but maybe could be fashioned from an old clock spring.

I did ask this back in post #4. If not worried about boards I was going to suggest using a circular saw set to plywood thickness and then rip between rows of screws. When plywood removed use an angle grinder to cut off screw heads to board level.

Are you looking to refurbish the boards underneath?
