Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

I use isopropanol to clear permanent marker pen ink. May need a few tries if it's been on a long time though.

Advice on joist support for lean-to structure

Firing strips are used to introduce a fall on a flat roof construction to allow drainage of rainwater to a suitable gully/gutter.

    Drafting Machine (pre Sketchup!)

My 6" steel pipes were involved in the mechanical services industry primarily heating and domestic services to RAF stations, new tower blocks and centralised boiler plants serving new council estates all back in the late 60s & the 70s. I only flew a drawing board though not a welding torch.

    Drafting Machine (pre Sketchup!)

I started my working life drafting on a A0 board with T-square & set squares then got upgraded to a parallel motion board to compliment the set squares. The next job move I had a posh drafting machine which, TBH, I could never get on with. Final move before becoming self-employed I went back to...

Solar panels: do they save money?

We have PV panels which were installed before the cut-off date of 12 December 2011. Only a small array at 1.75kWh output maximum. The break-even point was 6.5 years later and we currently get between £850 to £950 pa back in FIT (depending on the weather) which more than pays for our grid input...

Seriously ????? someone is having a laugh

I'd hardly call using end feed fittings good quality. Would look a lot better with solder ring fitting properly soldered.

Any experience of Willis Economiser Immersion Heater?

All well and good until someone wants to draw off hot water. There will be a pretty good chance that the cold water from the feed tank will bypass the cylinder and flow up through the unit to the hot tap (but will deliver cold water therefrom). Remember water likes to follow the line of least...

How do I make this spring-clip thingy?

I did think of a band saw blade but went for the clock spring as that will already be formed into a curve.

How do I make this spring-clip thingy?

Don't know what they are called or where to get one but maybe could be fashioned from an old clock spring.

    Help.

I did ask this back in post #4. If not worried about boards I was going to suggest using a circular saw set to plywood thickness and then rip between rows of screws. When plywood removed use an angle grinder to cut off screw heads to board level.

Are you looking to refurbish the boards underneath?
