I'm no builder but I've read enough to form the opinion that rising damp is a myth and that chemicals are a con. Reducing the ground level seems to be key.

Thanks for all your replies folks. The garage is single skin and there is no sign whatsoever of damp in the other walls. I was hoping for a quick and easy fix but I guessed there wouldn’t be one. Hiring a concrete cutter seems to be the way to go. Thanks again.

Hi Sam, I cant actually see a dpc in the garage wall. There may be one under the slab that the garage was built on.

I’ve just used Valspar Wood and Metal V500 to repaint a dresser and it goes on very well with a mini mohair roller. Lovely finish, but too early to judge its wearing abilities.

That’s true to a point, multi room works fine for Spotify and any radio stations supported by something like Tunein. However, the BBC stopped using Tunein when their Sounds platform launched in 2019 and therefore lost this functionality. It is very annoying.
