    Designing down

Mobile phones are an ideal example of today's throw away society. I've had mine for three years now and it still works as good as the day I bought it. Can't see why people have to change their phones every six months.

    Relocating to Scarborough.

Thanks again Alun and Martin. We are looking forward to the move, but we will miss Jersey :( . The house we are going to rent doesn't have a garage, so once again the workshop will have to be packed up until I can either buy a house with a garage or build my own. We all know what I would...

We'll be moving to Scarborough in a month's time and was wondering if any of the members are from that way? Also does anyone know of any good timber merchants in the area? Cheers Phil

    Greenhouse Project, WIP

Looking Good Rich. I especially like the trestle with the climbing plants, it'll look great when they get established.

Oi, don't throw that away, chap!

I'm surprised you haven't seen the wooden plane before Rich. we used them in school in the early seventies, we called it a Jack plane. I thought that most schools used them at that time.

    WP150 PLANER FOR SALE

Apologies Dave. On reflection, or more importantly sober  , it appears that I overreacted to your advice. The point I was trying to make at the time is that we are more tolerant of others mistakes, or lack of Internet etiquette. You were, but at the time I didn't think so. Phil.

You know what Jenx, I think your spot on. If i practised 12 hours a day to learn how to play guitar or snooker, I reckon i would be very good to say the least. Unfortunately the majority of us have to support ourselves by working eight hours a day. That's not to say that the person who picks...

    WP150 PLANER FOR SALE

Come on Dave why be pedantic? All he wants to do is sell a machine. I don't give a flying f*** how it is worded, if I want the machine I'll respond. Internet etiquette doesn't really come into it. Phil PS. I don't even want to mention that the poster may be dyslexic or have some other form...

Unfortunately guys , except for my TS200, all my power tools are noisy, even the dust extractor :( I'm only using the Makita for small jobs like jewelry boxes or toys so my ears aren't ravaged.

'Greenies' .. The "Prius Polluter" truths

I will admit that I am not too clued up on this topic, so I can't really comment. However, the amount of greenhouse gases that this tiny island produces is a drop in the ocean compared to China, India, Russia and the USA. Whilst we get fleeced by the Government in so called "Green" taxes...
