I'm thinking about building it similar to this model and intend to paint the wheels black. I'm using Rustins gloss polyurethane wooden floor varnish for the rest.

Thanks Simon but as I've said I'm just making a lift off lid, as hardware is not easy to come by in Jersey and postage from the mainland is excessive. Cheers Phil
