Woodwork Bench Build (Using Only Hand Tools) - Progress

Hi Everyone, I'm relatively new and when I joined the forum, I mentioned that I'm building a Paul Sellers inspired work bench. Somebody then suggested that I put a thread up so people can see progress. I'm building it ONLY using hand tools so its hard work. Well I'm half way through right now...

Mystery - Bench top Table Saw parts

Hi Steve, no bother at all. Lever lock is quite robust in my opinion. I also wanted a dewalt but way too expensive for my use. I have never used or seen a dewalt in person but the excel is definitely quite tough and certainly up there with the dewalt given the price comparison. The only thing I...

    I don’t want to build a workbench

I’m currently building one. I’m getting enjoyment from woodworking and it’s no different for me now building my own bench. In fact, it’s damn hard work as I’ve decided to build it purely using hand tools only. Thing is, I’ve found that because it’s not easy and is hard work, paradoxically, I’m...

Mystery - Bench top Table Saw parts

Hi Steve, yes I bought it for the same reasons as you to be honest. It’s light enough to lift about but at the same time, heavy enough to be quite hard wearing. It’s quite strong in my opinion. Quite load but it’s all open design. Can’t fault it for the money. Kind Regards..........Rob

Mystery - Bench top Table Saw parts

Thanks everyone, much appreciated. Plausible reasons and most likely. It would help if the manufacturer actually said what they were for eh. I was clutching at straws to be honest. I've not seen anyone on youtube or on any “how to“ sites using anything like it to be fair. I'm not sure I will...

Mystery - Bench top Table Saw parts

I have an excel bench top table saw. It came with the black plastic parts indicated in the pics. These are showing on the internet in images as mounted to the rip fence. I can’t for the life of me understand what they are for. The manual and info from the manufacturer doesn’t say. im hoping...

Hi I was thinking about purchasing one of these for my shop as it’s moveable, you can get all sorts in it and with the drawers would be very organised. I have looked about on the net, eBay, Amazon etc and some do look very cheap quality build on the images. I wondered if anyone has had any...

    Hand Drill - 1943 - SIF

I know, its crazy and exactly what i was doing back in the day Roy when I started my apprenticeship too in 1988. Being a manager now and looking at all the new technology with the young uns, its hard to get them to understand some really basic laws of physics - things like how a plumb line...
