What paint is best for spraying on mdf

Use Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 (the blue tin), to prime it, then use whatever other folk here advise for top coats.

    Insuduct pipe protection

Not quite sure what you're asking. Can you explain it for simpletons?

Knotting, or how to stop the lid sticking on.

Bm101, I've got a friend that's got a stupid friend like your theoretical friend. My friend is a painter and decorator and uses zinsser B-I-N (The red tin) for knot sealing. (Interior). Don't ask me how my friend's stupid friend knew the answer to your theoretical friend's question!!

I've been offered a free Walnut tree

Gift horse and mouth springs to mind - Grab every last bit of it you can - As Lazurus says, they'll almost certainly be plenty of useable timber. If you can't store it all, let me know and if you are within reasonable(ish!) distance of the west midlands, i'll happily come and 'assist' with...

Probate, bank accounts and Enduring Power of Attorney

Yes. agree with earlier advice to get a joint account set up if not already, e.g.with spouse/partner or offspring/solicitor/trusted other, if no spouse / partner in the picture, as this will continue to operate even after death of one party. We hadn't done this when my dad died as a sole...

They are really lovely specimens, Bob. An aikido (I think?), club use the dojo where my kids do judo and the swords in their rack aren't a patch on those beauties you've made. Well done, sir. (And apologies for the childish comments earlier) Greg the Philistine

    Taking the Mickey !

They are really cute. Nice work, JtD. Am I right thinking the pin eyes are just the pin head with a very short piece of the shaft, just to locate them into drilled holes? Greg

Oil based paint / water based paint....

It's probably poor prep of substrate previously, as said above. If the surface is OK, even if still glossy, use Zinsser 1-2-3 (the blue tin) as a primer straight over the gloss - no rubbing down. It really does work. After the zinsser, (which will of course have 'show-through', as it's just a...

    Moto GP .......... unbelievable!

I think footballers DO get away with it - week in, week out. Until they start dealing with it consistently and firmly, and the refs get backed up by the authorities and commentators, it'll go on. How about docking points from the club, (retrospectively if nec)? Sorry, slightly off-topic mini-rant.

    Another Joke

Guy arrives at the Pearly Gates and St Peter welcomes him in. The guy notices a wall full of clocks at different times. When he asks what that's about, St P says each one represents a person's lies. For example, top left is Mother Teresa's - no movement, bang on 12.00. A few clocks along is Abe...

I don't know the definitive answer, but I would counsel caution - Don't assume they are compatible unless you get a confirmation from the seller. (Incompatibility may be reason for sale). (hammer)
