    Which Adhesive?

We had exactly that challenge on my bro's MIL's worktop. We got it set up squarely, then silicone underneath then all round joint. Has not moved in years and she is a hard core cleaner, so it must be ok

    John Berkeley

Hi folks, I've been trying to source John Berkeley's thread chasing DVD, but am drawing a blank every which way I try. His website link on HamletCraftTools takes you to a footwear supplier, (And they have no idea of his whereabouts) and no amount of googling gets me anywhere. Any of you good...

    Linseed oil paint

I haven't made any, but used the all back white. To be honest, I've been disappointed with the results. It went chalky in a couple of years and greyed in colour. I've had to rub it back after 5 years and redo. And it's a fussy bugger as far as temperature and drying time goes. Seems no better...

    Versachuck carriers

Sorry folks for the misleading suggestion  Thanks Chas and Phil for clarifying the matter of CARRIERS rather than JAWS.

    Versachuck carriers

I'm not 100% sure, but I think axminster carriers will work on the Versachuck, so could you get them from axminster? Mod Edit:- The Carries are not interchangeable between Versachuck and Axminster Chucks, scrolls are different, the Versa Chuck has finer scroll. (see later post for image)

    Kel Mcnaughton website

Hi, Any folk on here know if kelton in NZ have gone bump? I've tried their web address a good few times in the last week or two, but just getting an error message. Toolpost just said they've not heard anything, but didn't expand on that. Thanks in advance Greg

    Novice copper pipe soldering

Totally agree with Lons. Did he mention CLEAN? Also, when heating a joint, move up and down from past one side and over the joint, to past other side, so heat is quite even- this causes the solder to run. And leave it to cool before moving it, (or touching it! DAMHIK A few practice goes and...

    Wood identification

Hi Brian, That's really knit of you and your son in law to go to that trouble. I think you could be right, looking at the images on the web. The redness cause is interesting: it was a 'stump' about 12 feet high, having been cut down in the past, so it could well have been suffering. I had...

Sharpening: need a jig? Which jig?

Same as wot they said. I use an adjustable platform on a bench grinder. As and when the wheel becomes useless, I'm going to get a CBN wheel to reduce adjustments of the platform to the bevel angle only. In fact, if I could afford it, I'd have a wheel and platform set for each gouge and chisel...

    Help with restoration

I'm in no way qualified to give ANY advice on restoration, but if the piece is precious, it may be wise to get a cruddy old bit of tat from a clearance place, or even a skip and have a practice on that. Just a thought
