Hi folks
Our stihl ms181 cbe has finally gone pop.
Great little chainsaw that's hard to fault.
Now do I consider e.g. a Makita battery chainsaw as I have loads of their kit and plenty of batteries?
Or will I be disappointed compared with a petrol saw?
Thoughts welcome.
Thanks in advance
Greg
If you go on you tube and search Paul Hannaby, (the AWGB Chair), his video called "Turn a wooden goblet" demonstrates its use really clearly. It's at about 20 mins in, but worth watching from the start.

Very neatly turned, Adam.
I'm not 100% sure of the shape, but that's just personal choice.
Lovely sharp lines between the timber and other materials.
Well done, (And slow down a bit, you make others of us feel guilty about lack of productivity 😳)
Stop it, BM!
I used to live in Shortland - just up the hill, actually - Park End, behind quick fit.
Was down there last week doing some repairs on our old house we rent out.
It changes so much each time I see it, though still great fried breakfast at what was Mazzi's opposite Brewers...
All the above is good advice. (He says, not having taken the leap) make sure you and your partner have discussed it fully - it can put big strain on a relationship, even if seemed like a great idea at the start for both of you.
And if that's where's your heart is, then I would encourage you...
Nice work, Harry
I know what you mean about showing work. I think the British culture herbs to be a bit more reserved about showing work. Almost as if we're "showing off", when in actuality, it can be a really good way of inspiring others and or getting feedback to improve.
Having said that...
