    That is really, really sad news. Although I never had the privilege of meeting Mark, I read his articles and have several of his clear and informative books. A huge loss to woodturning and more importantly, too his family. My thoughts are with them.

    Bathroom ceiling.

    We're landlords and a couple of bathrooms had similar problems. We appear to have solved them by installing humidistat 'silent run' fans, which are almost silent and can be boosted when user in the room having a shower. I'm no ventilation engineer, so can't tell you details of why it seems OK now.

    I used Random Orbital Sander on a bad patch on our oak worktop, and hand sanded the rest. 3 coats Danish oil, renewed every 12 months or so and all good
