I installed water-filled UFH over new concrete screed on ground floor extension. On strong advice, I used engineered (ie plywood backed), oak boards to avoid warping, cupping, etc. Whilst it hasn't warped or cupped, the boards have moved apart in places, despite careful glueing with high quality...

Doug, that's brilliant, thanks. I don't have a tall pillar drill, so was thinking I'll have to go by eye, ( maybe slightly larger holes than needed, in case of wander), or, after marking, set the ext bed on a cradle on the lathe and advance it slowly onto drill held in headstock.
