    Very sad news

Eh? You may be in the happy position of not being motivated by money, (we have no idea of each others means or income), however I have found through life that everyone who is providing for themselves and their family tend to have at least a bit of motivation for money, unless they live in a...

    Bowl problem

If you want to keep the bowl large, then just sharpen up your gouge, take light cuts and leaves if there as a feature. Unless bowl needs to be 'whole'. Or add epoxy glue/ resin with e.g. coloured stone/ brass filings/ glitter/ coffee grounds to make a statement.

    Howdens Joinery prices?

They are a pain in the a to deal with. Just go into branch(es) and say you want the absolute best price they can do. If it doesn't suit, just walk away. There are plenty of others to try. We ended up with...

    Very sad news

I wouldn't want to live like that either, but the howls of derision from much of the British press when Harry and Meghan felt they couldn't stay in the royal bubble would indicate a little bit of double standards.

    Chip/dust extraction advise please

Not sure what footprint you have in mind, but I've got a Laguna Bflux1 and it's great. Bandsaw clear of chip and dust. Lathe dust sucked away like a sucky thing. I'll measure the size and post it here

More Parkside rubbish! This time, a cordless chainsaw that's actually an Einhell

Ah! They've just been in round here a few weeks ago. I'll keep my eyes open, then. 🤞

    Stain for oak bannister rail

Probably fine, but be sure you want to dye it first - it's a LONG job getting off enough wood once dye has soaked in

If you mean the Lidl one - out of stock everywhere I tried 😡

    Stain for oak bannister rail

I agree with Colin. Or some form of polyurethane varnish. Definitely not wax - dirty hands just spoil it in no time. Danish oil does darken it quite a lot, but does sand off easily if you're not keen. If you really aren't sure what to go for, best is to try the finish on some spare wood, (or...

    Happy springtime neighbors!

Copy attachment is nice and handy, but is achievable cheaply by rigging up a couple of centres in articulated arms - they are just holding a piece in place, after all.

    Amber-ish

Adam, Not sure if you've answered this before, so apologies if so, but what brand if resin do you use? TIA Greg
