    Guns,guns, and more Guns

And the irony is, the gun loons stormed, (or in their apologists view 'walked quietly and peacefully to'), the seat of government the moment the government actually upheld democracy 😂

    Laguna bflux1

Hi Leigh, I bought one secondhand, (but still pretty new). Very happy with it. Much quieter than my old Woodstar and way more effective - lathe sanding much cleaner and bandsaw virtually no dust build up. Don't know where you are in Shropshire, but I'm in Stourbridge. If you want to have a look...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Thank you for your thumbs up, gents. Hi KK, Chestnut Products and their gilt cream, then buffed on their system. (No shares in them - just found their products work for me) Cheers Greg

Post a photo of the last thing you made

I've finally had a go at bronze brush to raise the soft grain, ebonising lacquer, gilt cream, then polishing wax. Ash. 15cm across x 5cm high. Wall is a bit too thick at 5mm, but got scared of ruining all the work! Not too unhappy with the result, but know it could be much better. Criticism...

I blame YouTube, how many more Americanisms are we going to have to suffer ?

Is it a 'discussion', though, Phil? It is written, (or more accurately, keyed in), not an oral process - oh dear, can and worms 😬

    Electric light switch question

Looks like a modular one. If you can't find a brass one, get a white one, then swap it out

    Bandsaw BAS318

That sharpening video is amazing! I always thought you had to faff about with different angles etc. Gonna give that a go. Thanks for sharing 👍

    Dust collection hood

I am in the same boat, scooby, so hope some good suggestions come in! I have looked all over for a stay put hose, but only seem available in 2.5 inch - no four inch anywhere - unless anyone can point me in the right direction?

Lucky you typed that last sentence carefully! 😳

Laminate wood flooring - which way?

I didn't mean to buy it, (unless you're loaded!), I meant for layout ideas - they certainly did have options laid out for viewing

    Capital gains tax

We're in pretty much that position. Other posts point you to right place to start calculation, but I would say DEFINITELY pay an tax accountant to help. Easily saved what you spend on them.

Laminate wood flooring - which way?

Normally long wise, but you may be looking to make the room seem wider, if so, widthwise. If you want to make a different statement, diagonal or herring bone - more wasteful but can look good. Google images and just look and see what you prefer I notice you are in Stroud - I'm pretty sure...

Unless you're in the off topic sub forum Then it's anyone's guess😂.

    Doh!!!

Good you found out, though. We've probably all been there, albeit in different guises. Glad you persevered and solved it - by the time you get your next machine the shape, size and colours will all have changed - but at least you will know to keep digging 😉

Whats the best paint for Sandstone?

Could you use chemical stripper and elbow grease on stone, then leave natural? No need to 're paint and should look lovely. Linseed oil paint does need periodic recoat, or at least oiling, so I'd avoid that up there

    Very sad news

Can't see what's the relevance of how long ago they were

PPE for turning - concerns over the PAPR masks

I use a second hand 3M versaflo. New they are super pricey, but I have to say, it is the mutts nuts. The filter is in the small of your back on a belt, and a pipe takes the air up to your head piece
