I'll need something to put my tools in...

Then you have time to do those furniture jobs you are keen to get going on. Nice work and shed. PS Ask beau to send you a photograph of his bench he made to finish up your shed. Its a beauty.

    I'm back started another one!

Back to the box, the first of the year and I have a bandsaw, a mitre saw Tormek7 and a pillar drill also a small 1/4" router but no table. Plus numerous hand tools accumulated over 60 years. So glued some 8mm timber to form the set in tissue box lid yesterday and did some early shaping. a...

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

My idea for new dust port. back plate will be cut to lay in place and screwed from inside with 35mm round head wood screws/ End of vacume pipe will be cut off which seems to be holding well in a 30mm drilled aperture. Your ideas and comments welcome.

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

Slept on the problem re breakage of outlet dust flange to my bandsaw which broke away from the rear casing of machine and will now not hold to the casing. So I do not want to return the machine (I do not want or need to go down the route of a larger and heavier saw) so I am going to attempt...

Review of Tuff Saws blades on Aldi WorkZone

Pleased to report and review bandsaw blades supplied to me from Ian of Tuff Saws. The three blades shown above were all fitted to the Aldi work zone bandsaw and in my honest opinion all worked and cut extreemly well. Not one of the blades was there any drift off of line using three types of...

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

I confess the dust out flange of the bandsaw has failed, the flange that grabs the inside of the bottom compartment obviously could not withstand pressure of hose connection to the vacume machine. I have one solution in mind but will sleep on it tonight so that other thoughts might come to mind...

Aldi bandsaw....does anybody have one and can comment?

I would not knock the bandsaw that hard, it is manufactured to a price, but it can cut and do a good job. So what! your table does not meet the standard of a £1000 plus machine but the Aldi can still do a satisfactory cut if handled within its capabilites. A new blade supplied by Ian at Tuff...

    Some timber stock to Beau

Yesterday I had the great pleasure in making a visit to Beau's workshop on Dartmoor. What a lovely set up Beau and thanks again for a great welcome. Your working sheepdog was great and even your lambs came to greet me and your own barn conversion to your lovely home was a great achievement...

Lovely post there John. Hope you enjoy your rather less noisy woodwork from now on. Thanks and to Beau on Dartmoor who I visited yesterday (and nearly had to swim home) who also had a super workshop in a barn. Beau helped me with by preparing 5 short boards for 12 more of my boxes.. Dan, I...

I'll need something to put my tools in...

Just had in the past a piece of wood split along the grain(I was building boats around 40 years ago, not professionaly) and I got that feeling again seeing yours. Wait and see if anyone else follows up, but bear in mind I have no idea what or how you are using the piece and there might not be...

Dan I know nothing about climbing but that piece of wood could split looking at the grain direction and appearance.

Cutting guide fence for Axminster mitre saw advice sought

http://www.axminster.co.uk/jet-jsms-10l ... saw-200329 The above mitre saw is one of the tools I retained from my old workshop and I have never been happy with its cutting accuracy for my tissue boxes. I would like to add a timber face fence to the existing ally fence on the saw so that it...
