    Dan, I recall an incident some years ago with the Jet extractor, do not depend on the gadget to switch off the power supply use the mains at the end of a woodwork session in shed. You might hear an electric interference noise if you leave the mains on. Advice I got from this forum years ago.

    Dan I never had much use for planning down or thicknessing long boards, did you have mobile timber supports at both ends of the operation for that length? I would think it is a skilled operation needed to tackle removing twist when planning out on that length, I hope you looked up on youtube...

    Derek, I remember when you posted your newly constructed bench over 10 years ago, it has a few scratches on it now I note. Thanks for showing your new bench stops and amendments. I need something like this myself these days, I have come out of heavy machinery use.

    My avatar does not work it is now static and does not display previous work . I had great difficulty getting back to this thread. the option to "view own posts" not displayed? And the scroll bar is slow and jerky.

    Thanks Andy, my boxes are normally 8 to10mm thick and around 85 mm width timber, frames can be in the18mm to25mm thick.

    Mattroberts, that would do the trick and I reckon I could make up similar with 6mm threaded bar and some nuts. Thanks for you post

    If I use a plough plane the edge usually would hang over the front edge of a bench and planing action can displace unstable foundation limo.
