Is your iMac or Macbook getting long in the tooth ?

I think it was the 256GB version of this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0784SLQM6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_f3JGFb8YAQE8J I didn’t realise that SSDs had dropped that low in price these days as it’s a few years since I changed mine. The battery is this...

Is your iMac or Macbook getting long in the tooth ?

This is also what I did with a 2009 MacBook Pro. Added a SSD and from 4 to 8GB (the maximum) of ram. Battery life is not very good and I’m about to change that next. Also, you don’t need a docking station—just plug in external devices as you wish. Mouse, keyboard, monitor etc. Fairly cheap...

Door Leading Edge 3-degree Undercut Bit

Guys, thanks for the splendid answers and thanks for the warm welcome back. I've been a member over ten years but dip in and out of woodwork as required and don't always need forum advice. Coley, that jig looks great. A great idea! I think Adam answered the specifics (which I didn't give)...

Door Leading Edge 3-degree Undercut Bit

Has anyone used a 3-degree undercut bit for a door's leading edge and would you recommend them? This is the kind of thing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192458704000 ... rmvSB=true Jim

    Dust extractor DE7778

I've just bought a Dewalt DE7778 dust extraction kit for my DW700 mitre saw. It comes with three attachments for three ports; two of which are pretty obvious where they go but there's a third one that I have no idea where to put. Does anyone have any ideas? I searched the forums but no joy...

Fridge freezer doors on inset doors with face frame

Thanks for the replies guys. The model in question requires the cabinet doors to be hung on the appliance. No sliders are involved. I really meant to ask if it was possible to do that and have butts as well but false butts seems the way to go. Once again, thanks! Jim

Fridge freezer doors on inset doors with face frame

Hi all I'm trying to fit intergraded Neff fridge freezer doors to the inset panelled doors I've made for a face frame cabinet. The rest of my kitchen doors are hung on butt hinges. Does anyone know if the the fridge freezer wooden cabinet doors also need butt hinges, or are they simply hung...

    Woodfit 'Trade Status'

Does anyone know if there is much of a discount to be had when buying relatively small quantities from Woodfit if you have applied for, and been granted, 'Trade Status'?

Finishing insides of MR MDF carcasses

Hi guys Thanks for the tips. I live round the corner from the Mylands factory so I'll see what they have. I like the sound of the glass. Up to now, I've always painted after assembly but I've started to do it as you suggest, as of today. Regards Jim

Finishing insides of MR MDF carcasses

There's been a great deal of discussion about finishing MR MDF on doors and face frames but what the best way to finish the insides of kitchen carcasses in this material? I'm thinking: Two coats of water-based mdf primer/undercoat Two coats of oil-based eggshell ...but that does seem like a lot...

    Door Stops

Thanks for the replies Yes, have hung the door and am about to fit the stops -- hence the question. Hmm. Too late for that. I wanted planted stops to match what was there before. I've made these myself, they look like wide staff beads with the edge having a corner bead. I'll use plenty of...
