I love turning Silver Birch, but it can seem a little fibrous if your tools are not razor sharp, i've not yet tried carving Birch.... also the sweet smell of the wood is delicious......

I have a local potter to compete with colour wise LOL.... I'm still experimenting with making cheap paint look ok, this particular piece was first painted with a mixture of water based wood sealer mixed with a blob of blue acrylic paint, allowed to dry, sanded and then repeated with a magenta...
