    Hmmm, well I'm hoping the varnish will suffice then ! I would have used an epoxy but it was just down to poor artist syndrome, nothing new there...live and learn eh... Cheers for the advice

    Thanks, the initial sealer I've used us a good quality spray Yacht varnish but I'm debating whether to epoxy them, I'm not sure how stable epoxy would be on top of the varnish.

    Good idea, melting the Pewter does that naturally, it just floats on top.

    We have an outdoor dry compost loo that our camping friends use, these shavings are perfect for that.

    Each disc drawn on with Colour pencils, cases made from ebonized Walnut with Olive inlays.

    Glad you enjoyed the music, i've been told it's too quiet so i'll fix that.... well i try to use only post 1980 Pewter tankards to melt due to them containing no lead and i always melt stuff outside, i generally hold my breath until the dastardly operation is over :)

    Indeed the colour change is amazing and drastic, yes the Almond can split easily, I tend to leave any rescued firewood logs and stash them under my work bench for a year or so, most of my work incorporating Almond is fairly small as smaller bits tend to crack less, also I'm no fan of the smell...
