It was an old batch that went rusty, I still use it though as I like the colour, it seemed appropriate for a coffee spoon..

Hi John, it does indeed seem to blunt tools quickly, like cutting paper with scissors... saying that i'm having a hard time putting a decent edge on any of my tools at the moment due to not having a decent sharpening system, i look forward one day to change that..... cheers

It's not that so much as i don't want to be seen spamming with posts, a dedicated area would be good.

I've made both wood turning skews and scrapers from files with no problems, i know some folk say they'll explode, or shatter and that they're too brittle but i've never had that happen.
