Well it's 7 ply for sure, I don't know the specifics as I reclaimed it from the dump, I do know the quality was pretty good, I've tried turning cheap Chinese imported ply before and regretted it.... Also I find Shellac seals ply really well, cheers

Hi, I made a jig to hold the bottle in my lathe, hand turned whilst scoring then used my gas burner on the line and dunked it in water, 7 out of 10 times it doesn't work.

Sweet/Candy jar made from scrap wood and a cut off wine bottle, clear glass would be better but it's all i had at the time.

Wow lovely slabs, I had a smallish one like that and made a hanging lamp out of it, slabs like that are also great for turning, that Olive smell is amazing

I snapped the stock rest that came with my Nova Comet , bang, head clean off.... went to our local metal worker man and he made me a replica in mild steel, slightly longer rest and a little crude but way stronger than the rubbish i had before, only cost 20 euros too... bargain
