But isn't 1/2 inch 13mm? The bar i have is 16mm... this is where i'm confused

Just found one... Expensive ! Trust me.... And i already have a handle.... Doesn't look like it's possible to purchase just the steel anywhere !! Can anyone suggest a gouge that is similar...

Great advice, do you know if this 'Superflute' still made? It's the first gouge i've ever owned and i love it, all my gouges are swept back, it's the only grind i know... Think i need to go to lathe school :)

Turned Walnut bowl with a Silver birch lid inlayed with walnut/resin.. with an Ipe finial. Penny inlay inside lid.

Double ender ! Impressive.... That seems like a good idea, my gouge is running out and they'll be loads of steel left which I'll grind into a skew I think.... I'm really bad at figuring out numbers, I'm beyond cr@p at maths, if it's the same diameter as mine I'll be interested for sure, more...

Was just wondering if anyone here knows the best place to buy a new one of these,(Does the quality of steel vary much ?) I only need the steel as I love the Henry Taylor handle that came with it originally... I'd like the same profile and size.... Many thanks for any pointers/links ....

I think this lady was just on **** tube with Alan Stratton (as wood turns)... she was making her own custom pyro coils, very cool (or hot should i say).... These works you've made are unique, i'm sure they'll sell like hot cakes :)

First attempt at this type of resin work, turned Walnut bowl with sliced Carob set in green resin..

Lidded box made from tinted Silver birch, lid is Composite with Olive inlay, Olive finial, finished with lacquer.

No it's.... from what i've read.....( i find this stuff up at the dump every now and again)..... it has a blue backing that can peel off, i think it's made from resin and recycled paper, it's used on planes and trains to construct cupboards etc... it turns and glues well..... i like to make lids...

Hi Chris, the damage to my roof was luckily on one side only... phew... As I don't have a dust collector and the weather here is fine most of the time... I've put the entire lathe on 6 heavy duty wheels, I love working outside, also the shavings are easy to disperse....
