I've heard that said before, i've tried to make them shatter by experimenting on Olive, Oak, Ipe and maple but can't seem to manage it, i'll keep experimenting.

Nope, just ground down, never had an issue.

The gouge on the right is ready to be ground into a wonderful round skew, just done exactly that and it works like a dream.

The handles are good practice and the scrapers are made from old files, had some of them years now, still going strong.

I do, it's just this bowl gouge was at the end of its life, has a nice handle too, i bought it second hand, and it lasted me 5 years...... now it has a new lease of life, another 5 years i reckon.

Re-grind into a skew chisel from a spent Henry Taylor Superflute, works like a dream, it's now one of my favourite tools, a lot of grinding though!! 😁

Thanks, i guess my reasons would be for stabilizing wood, being able to use epoxy filled bamboo which is terrible for creating bubbles and using just pure epoxy without colour.... ! cheers
