Makes me a little sad I have up winter climbing.

The disc itself is, it just grows a hard shell for protection, like a turtle.

    Ventilation

And yet looking at Fitzroy's numbers above, 100% RH air at 5C when heated to 20C will have a RH of 40%. Why would that be so bad to have in your house? My house normally sits at 60-70% RH, the kitchen can get higher while cooking. Opening a window dries the air significantly (a couple of hours...

That looks pretty ace, a little envious.

    Finish on european cherry

50/50 garnet and blonde shellac gives a nice pale brown without being as orange as lemon shellac.

    Ventilation

At this time of year the outside air is actually pretty dry because cold air holds a lot less moisture.

Do not try this at home!

Outrageous. The workbench doesn't even have ear defenders.

    Easiest Blade and Chisel Sharpening

Sure if you're Jacob who has the way of the sharpener. But for a new woodworker, they are far from foolproof. The cleaner was in referenece to oilstones, but also applies to wet and dry I suppose. Cost of an oilstone is what, £30? Plus oil. Cost of a diamond plate, £3. You can buy ten of them...

I assume this is why workplace pensions are now compulsory, because the government doesn't want to have to pay for old folks. :?

What is a rebated mortice lock

How secure is your Yale lock? Most of them can be picked in under a minute with a credit card, so unless it's one which deadbolts the latch I wouldn't trust it.

    Easiest Blade and Chisel Sharpening

You can call it whatever you like, it's still sand by another name. I'm yet to see a wet and dry paper that won't tear, especially when saturated with water. Regardless, you can get a set of diamond plates for the cost of a pack of wet and dry and that's before we even get into buying...

    Easiest Blade and Chisel Sharpening

I have a couple stuck to MDF. I haven't had any warping, but they're not my main stones either. I wouldn't call sandpaper cheaper, or better for that matter. Thin diamond plates cost £3-4 each and last for months to years. Sandpaper lasts hardly any time at all, a few weeks maybe? Also, you...

    Am I being fair!

As Robin says, they have to notify you before commencing proceedings. Also, they generally can't claim much in the way of costs in the small claims court, so it won't increase much over the original debt. Going to court is always the worst way to get money, so they are unlikely to take it that far.

    Computer geeks, queue here

FWIW I think Windows 7 is the best version to date. I still have it on one computer, though my laptop is 10 and I use 10 at work (by necessity, but then I am a computer geek).

    anyone else got a cold?

Plague is actually not that dangerous these days, due to antibiotics. Or maybe because we don't drink milk. (homer)
