    Startrite 352 collection and inverter

Thanks again guys. Hopefully this is the only 3 phase machine i will have so the inverter will be dedicated to this machine. I take the point about a suitable enclosure and i have planned for this. I think i would like to control on/off from the original switchgear and was hoping that there...

    Startrite 352 collection and inverter

Thanks again all of you. On the inverter front I will certainly take any advice going. I understand how the VFD works but one thing I am puzzling over is how it will fit in with the machines existing controls. Do you keep both sets or bypass the existing controls and just use the VFD? John

    Startrite 352 collection and inverter

Guys, thank you so much for all the help. I feel much encouraged! I am collecting it on Wednesday and will report back then. I am now happy that it will go in the car. I think an inverter is the way to go for me. I am unlikely to do any really heavy work but I bought this following the advice...

    Startrite 352 collection and inverter

Hi Guys, Well, I have followed some of the advice on this great site and bought a Startrite 352 instead of more modern imported equipment. It feels good actually! I have to collect it and I need some advice about what will be needed. I have a Mercedes estate and, if necessary, a trailer (its a...

    Triton TWX workcenter

Hi Carl, Thanks for your input. I am no woodwork expert but I am a pretty experienced engineer and I am really impressed with this workcenter so far. I have the router module which appears to be well thought out and designed. The only negative I can come up with is the table inserts around the...

    Small workshop equipment selection

Heimlaga -too late i am afraid, gone for £1300. I do agree with you though but my metalwork days are over. I have the original documentation for the Myford, It cost £58 in 1957!

    Small workshop equipment selection

Thanks for the help so far. One thing I should have mentioned (I have enquirer about this in a separate topic) is that Triton make a contractors saw module for the TWX 7. It looks attractive but I am not sure of the accuracy. If it is sound then it's the obvious choice. A bandsaw will...

    Triton TWX workcenter

In another post I am asking for advice about power tool selection for a small workshop. My major acquisition so far, resulting from a rush of blood to the head when I visited Yandles, is the new Triton TWX workcenter. There was some logic because I already had a Triton router. Overall I am...

    Small workshop equipment selection

Hi all, I would welcome some advice from those more experienced than me (which will be most of you!) I have just finished building my workshop which some of you may have read about here: new-member-of-the-group-and-my-planned-workshop-t98586.html sorry, dont know how to hyperlink it! Anyway, the...

New member of the group and my planned workshop

Benchwayze, I know it. Too late now. It's on eBay, ending tomorrow evening. Very sad to see it go. On the plus side it means I can buy more woodworking toys! I need a much better table saw to replace the evolution one I bought to build the workshop. It did a great job but it's not at all...

    RYOBI RT6000 Router Table HELP!

Hi All, Not sure if this is the right forum so sorry in advance! I have been given a Ryobi RT6000 router table. It is in very good condition except, critically, the cast iron table is broken underneath where the Tbolts that hold the router brackets locate. Evidently someone has overtightened...

New member of the group and my planned workshop

Guys, i am really sorry about the delay in replying. Lots has happened. I have had a change of heart about the roofing. Don't go near Bushburry Cladding, they took 3 weeks to decide that they couldn't deliver the roof panels for at least another week. I cancelled and am now going for EPDM as...

Well, progress has been made! Here are the latest photos. The Windows have worked superbly. I have ordered a pressed steel tile effect roofing. The roof is sheeted in 18mm sob outside and 12mm osb inside. The inside will be clad in 18mm osb (it's £12 a sheet - same as the 12mm!!). The floor will...
