    Wireless radiator valves.

I have a Hive system with wireless try’s in most rooms and it works really well. They were installed when we had a new gas boiler installed recently.

    63mm Blast Gates

I made a couple out of offcuts. Surprisingly easy and very effective. Lots of ideas on YouTube etc.

Which cordless system are you going with..if any?

I have several Hitachi drills, drivers and a circular saw. They are now Hikoki. The drills have been flawless apart from the chucks which are vastly inferior to my one Festool drill and the saw, though rarely used is excellent. If I do eventually change platform it will probably be to Makita...

    hi from Somerset

Hi there, I am in Sunny Cheddar! We all come to this by different routes. I am a mining engineer and have worked around the world promising myself that I would get a workshop when I retired. Eventually I did retire but the house my wife chose didn’t have a workshop or garage so my first...

    Custom MFT top

It seems more intuitive to start at one corner and work across. That was half my problem with the MKI system! If you are really careful I am sure this can be as accurate. I can see why starting in the middle is a better way and it certainly worked for me. At the end of the day, however you do...

    Custom MFT top

Sorry but I just don’t agree. If you follow the instructions, work from the center all the holes can be really accurate with the MKII system. John

    Custom MFT top

+1 for the PARF MKII. I had the MKI and never really had success but the MKII is a world apart. It IS expensive but as you say gives ultimate flexibility and very, very precise holes. John

Making a table saw rip fenc

Hi there, thanks for the input But not quite sure what you mean. The fence covers the whole width of the table? This of course is just the skeleton spine and I will fabricate a wood “cover” for it When I have decided on a design. John

Making a table saw rip fenc

Ok, finished (apart from putting a scale on). It is indeed rock solid and really east to adjust. I am very pleased with it.

After a trial assembly I have just painted everything with smooth black Hammerite. Hopefully I can fit it properly tomorrow.

Wanted Cast iron router table top

Some while ago I had a table with a cast iron top. I think it was a Record Power one. I didn’t rate it very highly overall but the cast iron top was excellent. I am about to build a new router table and am looking for a cast iron top to base it all around. Anything considered. Thank you. John

Replacing a splitter with a riving knife

Thanks John, I really appreciate it. i agree fully, the way it works gives me no cause for concern and it’s a whole lot better than the wretched splitter! the fence is basically the one from Steve Maskery’s DVD’s. It’s a really simple but very effective design. Rock solid and accurate. I have...
