    I have and know the steps. Its just practice. I do fear however, like you said, sizing parts to rough dimensions and then flattening etc by hand and then over shooting one part in thickness. Is it not easier to attempt to flatted the whole piece and then go by the cutting list and get that so...

    I had the Titan Thicknesser but sold it as it was so noisy and a pain to swap between modes. Would people recommend a scrub plane or have a jack plane set to a deep cut with a wide mouth?
