WARNING ...RANT! For those of you who are placing Christmas lights / decorations in your garden, can you please avoid anything that has Red or Blue flashing lights together? Every time I come around the corner, I think it's the police and I have a panic attack. I have to brake hard, toss my...

Anyone out there with a Charnwood W812? Can a drill chuck be fitted to the tailstock?

I've just checked my W812 tailstock and it is definately MT1. Perhaps some thing is stuck in there? Try bashing it out with a steel rod perhaps (towards the headstock obviously). Mine has a live centre MT1 in't tailstock at the moment. I'm curious now, please let us know how you go on.

    Hegner Saw Advice

I had exactly the same problem, but on the motor of my Record Lathe. I tried a new capacitor but still had the same problem. Turned out that in the motor assembly were some contactors ( a bit like points on an old motorbike). I blasted the motor end grill with compressed air and it cured the...

    Dirty Pro Bandsaw Tyre Replacement

I had same problem last week. I pushed the 2 ends together and dropped some thin superglue on the crack, sprayed it with accelerator, turned it over and repeated. I let it cure for an hour. It is still working 🤞 Hope this helps.

Band Saw & Planer/Thicknesser for hobbyist

I have the Makita 2012NB and have used one or two of this model for years. My current Makita 2012NB I think I bought used on 'bay site. I heartily recommend this model and only downside is lack of planer. I am just a hobbyist now but love my 2012NB for its simplicity. I have a separate dedicated...

    Industrial Drill Bits? Ebay

They look like Industrial mining drill bits to me. Fit them on a long shaft to drill deep holes prior to blasting with explosive of choice.

Which end to turn a bowl from a Log

I had the same problem years ago. I found a local company that fells trees and I went to their yard, they had two piles of logs, 1 easy to split which were sold, and the knotty and crotchy logs in pile 2 which were free (loaded my car up). I sometimes glue different planed wood together and turn...
