    New workshop for 2020

Thanks, it‘s been too hot to work outside yesterday and today, so made the last seven drawers and fitted them in the shelved units on the left. The angled one was a bit trickier to work out, but finally got it. The drawer fronts for these are also made, just waiting for the varnish to dry so I...

    Cutting sheet material in garage

I too have been using a lot of 8x4 sheet ply and do the initial rips on the workbench with the t55 track saw. After which they are manageable on the table saw. If you don’t have a table saw, you Have little option of making repeatable cuts. When I was constructing the fifty drawers, I would lay...

    New workshop for 2020

Hang in there Mike, :D they’re planned for above the drawer storage for lengths of timber stock and a sheet material rack to the right of the lathe. Under the lathe will be a rack for turning blanks. I’ve ‘acquired’ a good few 12” discs of exotics for turning along with some square stock...

    New workshop for 2020

Thanks, it’s been a bit longer than I had planned in making them, but it looks half decent and will give an enormous storage capacity, so all in all worth the extra effort.

    Sorting an uneven concrete floor

Excellent work digging out that lot. Why are you raising the rafters? Looks like you have loads of headroom already. Just curious.

removing a bolt that holds a saw blade on (stripped head)

Except it has been revived by a person with the same problem as the OP. Kinda saves going through all the same advice again.

removing a bolt that holds a saw blade on (stripped head)

Time to weld the head of a hex head bolt to what is left and take it off that way.

    Workshop draws

:D :D Yes, but even ‘stuff’ like finishes, abrasives, all hand tools, tool accessories (they go walking for a past time, spare blades, special size Allen keys etc ) will be suuuper organised. Probably find half will be empty and I’ve gone way over the top, but at least everything will have a...

    Workshop draws

I am now into fitting my 50 drawer setup. The first forty four have three quarter extension runners, the last six have full extension (they ran out of the 3/4). The cost was £1.80 for 500mm 3/4 and £5.90 for the full. I just didn’t want to run the extra £200 on the runners. The 3/4 ones do hide...

    Paslode newbie

That would explain how they nailed through a hole and had a suitable nail, I could only get within 5mm of accurate, sometimes 10mm using the Paslode.

    Paslode newbie

The first ones were Stanley from B&M on special, when they wore out (and B&M had sold out) I bought 10 pairs of these from Toolstation Not quite as robust as the Stanley, but still very good and I use them for anything rough and ready construction wise.

    New workshop for 2020

Thanks, condition of my workshop was an extended width full length patio. I was never going to get away with it not happening. The patio is done, back to the workshop soon, after building the planters :( . Bit of a hicup with the door, I forgot to add glazing bars to the timber order, so...

    New workshop for 2020

Rained off for the patio and garden walling project :) , so another eight drawers assembled for the first four cabinets. :) Struggled to keep a straight face when apologising for delaying Mrs S’s project. Did manage a third of the work but I think the garden looking like a building site is...
