    Sold Record Power BS300E Bandsaw

This is the current model with the cast iron wheels, hobby use only. Comes complete with 7 tuffsaw blades and mitre gauge. I should have the manual but can't lay my hands on it at the moment but can be downloaded from Record Power. Ignore the white stuff on the table I waxed it before moving...

Record Sabre 350 and greenwood cutting

I regularly cut 190mm (saw capacity) green logs on my RP300 using a toughsaws sabre cut blade, the extra set really helps clear the sticky dust, that's only 1000W. Take it slow and steady and stop cutting if things start getting bogged down, withdraw and then start again. I've just upgraded to...

    carve your own car

They go to all that effort and then screw everything together with some naff looking wood screws. A few pegs or even allan headed bolts would have looked much nicer in my view. Still very good though.

Sabre 350 Bandsaw Stand - Worth having?

@fezman, do you have any issues with the light duty base fouling the door opening? Finally received my bandsaw this week after it sat at the local palletforce dept. for 5 days.:( Anyway have finally had sometime to unpack and now haveit mounted on the Axminster mobile base. Trouble is the front...

    Furniture lifters?

If I need to temporarily lift a piece of heavy furniture and I'm on my own for say installing a piece of packing for levelling I use these type of feet. They're meant for permanent fixing but I just insert some wood so the base of the cabinet is within the 50mm range of the leg and then wind it up.

    Flood problems

You don't say how old your property is but you could argue that it's the responsibility of the local council / environment agency to maintain and provide adequate drainage. If the house (or estate) is less than 10 years old then there is still possible recompense from the builder. It will be a...

    Tool chest cabinet on wheels

Also a Halfords professional tool chest owner, black colour, still perfect after nearly 20 years of use. Had really wide sturdy wheels which was a key selling point for me plus seemed to be of a thicker gauge of metal than many I looked at. Of course they may not be the same today.....

Nice idea but that looks bit like a device made to snap keys in half

Window detail in box profile / wall sheet

Wherever you're buying the cladding from should keep a range of appropriate flashing for all this and have a simple guide sheet, if they don't I suggest trying somewhere else. For example: Choose Your Flashings, Flashings for Corrugated Roofs

Chimney sweep logs - do they work?

From my experience they don't care. I've been with 3 insurers, I asked if there was any stipulation on who cleans the chimney and how often it should be done, "do you have a thatched roof", no, "it's up to you then"....

Sabre 350 Bandsaw Stand - Worth having?

I did look at the BS400 and the Sabre450. I very rarely exceed the throat depth of my current BS300E, its always the depth of cut. The BS400 has another 20mm over the Sabre350 but the only issue I have with the BS300E is the guides, they work fine but just seem a bit clunky, so I couldn't bring...

Sabre 350 Bandsaw Stand - Worth having?

As I said I decided to go with the lightweight Axminster mobile machine base, mainly because my floor is uneven so the two adjustable feet will allow me to stop it rocking, I hope the wheel misses the door....another plus is can't loose the jockey wheel! Order placed with Yandles, very few...

Sabre 350 Bandsaw Stand - Worth having?

Decided to go with the Axminster mobile stand, think it will work better for my situation. Thanks for everyone’s responses.

Sabre 350 Bandsaw Stand - Worth having?

After a fruitless search for a larger used bandsaw I've decided to press the button for a new Sabre 350. Local dealer has no stock so I'm going to have to mail order but couldn't decide on the wheel kit. Can any owners out there comment on how well it works? My floor is quite rough so I'm...

    Looking for a Hinge Mechanism

Ercol used a pair metal sliding drawer runners with a piece of vertical wood which they then mounted the hinges on for the door. Best photo I have of a TV cabinet.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Keep at it, after a while the catches do stop happening plus you seem to develop a third sense that one is just about to happen. That's quite advanced I certainly haven't tried a goblet yet. I made a lamp stand following a video by Richard Findley and that really helped develop tool control...
