Grey dust extraction hose - can you still buy it?

I’ve just built a thien baffle separator which I need to attach but still be able to remove for emptying, but you're right that fixed would be a better solution. I’d just assumed I could buy a length of the stuff I had. Luckily @bobblezard has come to the rescue.

Grey dust extraction hose - can you still buy it?

I think I now understand the difference between the older grey hose and the newer style clear hose. The grey hose is PVC and the clear hose is made from Polyester/Polyurethane which makes it much more flexible and tougher but the disadvantage is it's also very compressible. The older grey hose...

Mmm, couldn't find that in their current catalogue.

Grey dust extraction hose - can you still buy it?

That's a better price and could work. I hadn't thought of searching on suction hose...the problem with dual/triple motor vacuum extractors is when the resistance increases by stepping down to a smaller hose all the flexible pipe shrinks back to the shortest length. The first time I was playing...

Grey dust extraction hose - can you still buy it?

Yes, but the only stuff I've found so far is vacuum hose at £28 per meter and stay put hose at £35 per meter which just seems a bit steep for a bit of hose...

Grey dust extraction hose - can you still buy it?

I have some grey dust extraction hose which is more rigid and doesn't stretch/compress much. The last lot I bought was from Axminster and it was described as "General Purpose 100mm x 3m Grey Dust Extraction Hose" and cost £16 inc. two hose clamps in 2019. This is really tough and is good for my...

    Which driver bits?

My last packs were Dewalt & Milwaukee, both were fine and on offer. Whatever tip you buy keep an eye on the end, they do wear and should be replaced as soon as they do.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

My wife wanted an art sculpture for the garden, but for some reason she didn't like it, so it's now available to buy from "Modern W a n k" for £500. The bottom two holes, orientated the same way, divert the bad energy away from the sculpture, the 3rd hole captures the good energy and funnels it...

    french cleat

Using a kitchen cabinet as an example the hangers are near the top, I would follow this approach, only moving down if there is nothing structural to fix the cleat to. You then need to fix a batten at the bottom of the cabinet the same thickness as the cleat.

    Noise control

If you get on well with the neighbours then I'd ask them first, no point in doing anything if they're ok as is. Otherwise the only way of cutting the sound down, from my experience, is to build a solid enclosure with the minimum amount of venting, point the vents away from the neighbours. As...

Richard Raffan woodturning videos on YouTube.

I'm still amazed at how hard he goes in and takes massive cuts with no issue. The material he takes off in one go with a scraper and the finish he gets is also incredible. Just goes to show what sharp tools, technique and the perfect angle can achieve.

Record Power BS300E unable to set tracking

A call to record power and order a spare part. You could straighten the current one and reinforce with some weld / fillets but I'd get a price first or even see if the'll send out a free one.
