    My Wadkins soupdish

If you have some strong straight edged lengths of whatever, it can be beneficial to lay some cling film along the fresh filler and (without deflection) press your edge on top. Hopefully this will give added reference points to level to and aid removal of high filler. Cheers Andy

    My Wadkins soupdish

You say the top casting is dipping slightly. If the extremities are flat and level, have you considered building up the dip with a 2pack car body filler? A suitable wide, straight dressing down stick with an applied abrasive would make short work in levelling to the true edges of the table. It...

    Plumbing dilemma

Update. Doing it without removing the pipe would have been a right mare! All components, including bottom board are now removable using furniture bolts with "t-nuts" and split batten shelf supports. Cheers Andy

Now happy with the Table saw.

Just a note from a different perspective, did you check that the belt (I'm assuming "V" here) is not unduly worn and bottoming out on the pully centres? Putting extra pressure upon the motor and shaft maybe counter productive where a new belt would suffice. Cheers Andy

Traditional woodworking marks. Is there a list?

For this example I wish I could remember where the picture is as I love reading old beams and how they were worked. Any how the most spectacular I've seen was exposed after a ceiling was removed in a very old house next door to the Church in Barlestone. (Interesting job, had to build two fitted...

    Elm needed

I see this standing dead in the lanes around me, could you not approach a land owner to see if a recently demised specimen could be taken away in your area? Cheers Andy

    Elm needed

https://mactimbers.com/ Mike's been converting some chunky Elms recently. Could be some 1/4 sawn with the edge? In any event I'd talk to him in case he knows of just what you require. Cheers Andy

    Morticing bit?

If a mortice is created by hand just deep for the square part to reference upon perhaps it would work well? I'd certainly love to see and have a good with one of these. Cheers Andy

    Plumbing dilemma

Interesting, so the pressure relief valve shouldn't go into that pipe as it's not a visible outlet, or would venting externally be ok? So the key question is... Is there a reg to stop me using a tube cutter on that run, moving it then putting it back with the aid of a fitting and 2 spanners...

    Plumbing dilemma

Yes, funny you should say that, they put the clips round for it and then decided not to use em..... For two pins I'd do it but it's well above my pay grade😉 Cheers Andy

    Plumbing dilemma

Is there a reason I shouldn't cut this 28mm pipe to give access for ply shelving sides (the bottom was hard enough!) and then reinstate with a straight compression fitting? As far as I'm aware it is a drain off pipe from a Tundish and a pressure relief valve. It should be said that the sides...
