How very interesting, as said above a pattern makers radius plane. Very often copied by the worker himself, cast in brass from a workmates example. So, why so interesting to me? The shape of this body is less frequently found and I know of less than 6 examples! (You watch em pop out the woodwork...

Record No 53 £85 15-1/2"opening x10-1/2" wide x,4" high jaws. Nice enough vice but to be clear I've replaced the rear jaw from an older donor. The original workings are in good order with excellent hook on the screw thread and half nut. From the picture of the rear you'll see the screw thread...

Doing one long edge at a time..... Sheet of board roughly 1000mm x 100mm pinned to bench. Tack on (19mm or under) strips to snugly cradle workpiece with lipped edge just overhanging. Trim lipping, turn and repeat. Cheers Andy
