    Paramo Vice Slipping

Hi Alex, I'm assuming woodworking not engineers vice? From the pictures and your description of what's happening I'd say your past the point of no return with this halfnut and screw. Sometimes it can start to wear and jump if the bottom of the halfnut thread gets a bit gunked up and stops full...

Is there a standard way to splice in a fix for a window sash?

Did you read the pdf Doug linked to? Great deal of information on how to do what you want to do. It's often not easy work but very satisfying when done correctly ie, you cannot see the repair when finished. Cheers Andy

    Unusual plane

How very interesting, as said above a pattern makers radius plane. Very often copied by the worker himself, cast in brass from a workmates example. So, why so interesting to me? The shape of this body is less frequently found and I know of less than 6 examples! (You watch em pop out the woodwork...

    What is this tool.

Ok, maybe not for splitting coconuts but along that line is a Boti. Cheers Andy https://www.indiamike.com/india/indian-cooking-and-cuisine-f12/traditional-ubiquitous-kitchenware-t226929/#post1805584

    What is this tool.

Not confirmed yet but it's something like a coconut splitting knife whereby the operator sits astride and bangs them at the edge. Cheers Andy I'm interested for my collection if you would like to part with it;):)
