If your concerned about ordering the wrong spiral block then just phone a woodworking machine supplier and ask them to arrange it for you. Or you can at least phone them for advice. Should be easy enough to do. Employ someone to make sure it’s correct. If you like the machine you currently...

    Bringing goods from the EU

A ridiculous thing to bark out. I do accept the vote, I have no choice do I? But Does that mean it can’t mentioned ever again? First off, I’m British, and therefore I love to moan. Second off, I’m British, and I love saying “I told you so” “Make Britain great again” - first time I’ve heard...

    Bringing goods from the EU

Starting to notice some serious price hikes in ironmongery and other consumable bits now. Some offerings have nearly doubled in price. What exactly did people think would happen when we “take back control”......of nothing... Scary for those of us who price and win jobs a few months ahead of...

Featherboards - Who favours what ?.

Well like I said, I took the plunge and am impressed with mine and believe it’s worth the money. The construction is very good and it has clear advantages and improvements over almost any feather boards I’ve ever come across. Louis

Featherboards - Who favours what ?.

Can’t believe no one has said the Bow Feather board yet. Look here brought one and really really pleased with it. They do all sorts of feather boards.

Isn’t the hammer in fact a step down from the felder? What are your reasons for wanting to replace the machine?

    Sketch up help!

Finally managed to sort this. Basically involved transferring everything onto iCloud, format the HD and install a fresh copy of Catalina. What a ball ache. At least it’s sorted though Louis

    Infrared heaters.

Thanks for that link. Will look into it looks pretty decent and not much more to go up to 4K. Toasty

    Infrared heaters.

4 foot is still pretty close. Don;t think wall mounting is an option in that case. Perhaps just painting them at the metal machines. Im convinced they act as an ice cube. Do you have any product recommendation?

    I've got the clamps!

Those Bessey F klamps are the best I’ve ever used. Super strong Wonder if the Axminster copies are just as good though? 🤔

    Infrared heaters.

Must be mounted on the walls and out of the way

    Infrared heaters.

Ultimately I want to heat a workshop that’s 6m wide by around 12 meters long Perhaps a series of heater lamps screwed to the walls?

    Infrared heaters.

Digging up an old thread! Have been thinking about this for a long time. How high above my panel saw and spindle moulder can it be? Close or far? How long would it take to warm up? And of course - can anyone recommend a decent one or make?! Happy to pay! Many thanks! Louis

    LBC (Louis’) Shop tour!

Morticer is hiding in the corner. PT is in the lobby (long story) and sadly still no bandsaw ☹️. Can’t fit one in!

    LBC (Louis’) Shop tour!

It’s a pretty good workshop but I’m constantly trying to organise it better and run more efficiently. For me personally, I enjoy using good quality kit just as much as the making. And I probably enjoy the process of a smooth and frictionless workflow even more. Sadly I’m more and more on the...
