    Insulating the 1st floor

Is there any benefit or disadvantage to fitting celotex or similar between the 1st floor joists in an older house? 1870 my house is. Can’t do much good for airflow.....or does it not make a difference? This can be improved in other ways of course No doubt it would keep downstairs warm, but then...

Share your 3D Printed Tools and Jigs

They are all fantastic! What’s the red box thing? Was that entire piece 3D printed? Exactly what I want a 3D printer for - life’s little hacks. I’m pretty comfortable with google sketch up. How easy is fusion to learn? Is much the same thing if your used to working and editing polygons etc? Louis

    Dresser top help

I don’t do this sort of thing often. So can anyone advise me if the best way to restore the top on this dresser. Orbital? Cabinet scraper? Is there a product I should apply? What finish suits this type of furniture? Teak oil or some sort of varnish? Not too fussed if the top is a slightly...

    Mobile base for hammer f3

Yes it is - however. I need to be able to roll it directly forwards and then backwards around 1.5m! Not sideways!

Can anyone recommend a solid mobile base for a hammer spindle moulder? Wondering if it’s best to simply get one fabricated? Anyone used any? Louis

    Glazing tapes for Accoya frames

Nothing was mentioned regarding tapes when I did my Accoya certification. I think any tape would be fine. But I wouldn’t use tape. Use Low mod glazing silicone if timber beading. Or a combo of butyl, low mod & traditional putty if being old school. Louis

    Tenoning on a spindle moulder

I would seriously advise against tenonning on the very same spindle moulder you intend to rebate and mould with....You could end up wasting an awful lot of time and money. If you can’t afford a small tenoner then I would personally make a jig which did all tennoning on the wobble saw, then...

    Instagram followers!

But at the same time I lack the concentration and interest to build up my Instagram You can target ages, hobbies, professions etc Not sure about actual incomes. You can also pin point (like, to the street) where you want to target and advertise, and then set a radius from that point up to “X”km...

    Instagram followers!

I’m currently solely advertising via Facebook and Instagram. Get more from FB than insta. FB seems more of an older crowd which suits my business (and so do their wallets). But it is changing! The oldies are now finding their way through Instagram. The paid advertising campaigns are just too...

    Sash window tooling 'systems'

I make loads of sash windows. The best tooling you can get is a Roman ovolo moulder head block and a 125 x 50mm rebate block sat underneath which creates a 9mm rebate. if you make as many as I do then the only way is to have two spindle Moulders. If your just making a batch as a one off I’d...

    Curved door frame

I gave up on doing those mdf site templates! Impossible! I now just take a number of measurements and CAD it. In sketch up, import a full frontal photo of the job, and literally just put it behind the cad drawing as a rough confirmation. Allow anything up to 15mm gap to allow for pointing in...
