What puts the festool top of the list for me is the ratchet system for removing bits, being able to connect the dust collar after a bit is fitted, the requirement for no screws / screwdrivers with bases or bushings and finally the optional extra to easily drop onto a track for straight dados. Its plastic now so happy for plastic again. Lasted around 6 years before curving off too much so happy with that.

Is there a 1/4” router bit available for the AQ21 weather seal? I can only ever find 1/2” bits. It’s not that big a cut, so surely a company somewhere make one? Louis

Nothing more annoying than squaring up a frame with packers and then knocking it all out if square with the first squeeze of hammer drill!

If it’s just for a few doors then I wouldn’t buy a tracksaw just for that. Hand saw and finish with a plane. if you have a list of things for future use then go ferrit

It’s a solid top so no issue sanding.

Frame in and squared up using pump bags. Foam & leave to set cup of tea and a biscuit time... Only once set you then drill/pilot and fix with concrete fixings. Foam acts as the perfect packer Remove pump bags and fill the void that they leave with foam. Louis

Have you actually squared & planed your stock or is it simply sawn to the dimensions?
