    newly varnished windows sticking

Oh me me! I know! I know! let me guess - the windows have rubber draft seals in the frame. If those draft seals get paint or oil on it simply doesn’t dry. I dunno why! Try rubbing white spirit of draft seals but we always paint and fit them only once the paint has dried so they get none on!

    The wonder of the domino

What on Earth is going on? Corona, brexit or both? This country is f&@*ed

    Hammer F3 or similar?

Also a note to others. If you don’t ask you don’t get. I asked if there was anything better they could do with the price before I pull the trigger and they knocked £600.00 off! Thank you very much, chicken dinner for me tonight! Louis

    Hammer F3 or similar?

Interesting - the felder sales man told me in a confession that the machine is not fast enough for small conventional router bits (they need around 20.000 rpm) so I’ll be interested to see the results. He did say that larger bits will be fine. But apparently felder do their own set of small bits...

    The wonder of the domino

    Small Hand Drill Recommendations

Id recommend a festool one :ROFLMAO: Just kidding....(or am I?) No, seriously - I have 12v Bosch ones and am very happy with them

    The wonder of the domino

We have the same arguments about mountain biking vs Road biking. Disc brakes vs cantilever etc etc etc

    The wonder of the domino

The domino isn't that wondrous. But it is a very clever collaboration of basic existing components in a very handy form. Imagine if it was 1915 and the invention of the handheld router has just come on the scene! Imagine that debate!!

    Hammer F3 or similar?

FOR THE RECORD. As im sure your all dying to know. I have (in my head) decided to go with the Hammer F3 over the SCM for the following reasons.... The hammer has interchangeable spindle's including one for router bits. (Big plus as I don't have a router table) The tenoning bed runs at the...

What would you charge for this?

Wonky door frame - what to do?

Cut a scrap sheet template of OSB or similar to fit the frame and make a judgement. Worse case remove the lining and refit. I like to try and retain as much as possible Louis

Walk in pantry pocket door system

I’m wondering how difficult it would be to simply make your own on site? Bit of stud work, two doors and a sliding track no? Louis

    Ledged and braced gate question

The only way I would suggest to beef up a L&B door is to have four Ledges instead of 3

    Ledged and braced gate question

Uuummm your describing a frame ledged and braced (FLB) door like I said. What your suggesting is doing a combo of the two, which is pointless. All or nothing I’m afraid. What have you actually quoted the client for?? Surely you have to stick to that?

    The wonder of the domino

If your doing cabinetry then 500. Without a doubt. I use my 500 a lot more than the bigger. Of course they have limitations but doesn’t everything? I think the idea of a hobbyist purchasing a domino is a bit ridiculous. Depth of cut is 70mm for whoever asked Didn’t intend to start an...

    The wonder of the domino

Think of it as a mobile morticer that can create many One pass. Bosh and straight in without issue. Even with an old cutter and on the “wide” setting. The thing is a beast!

    Ledged and braced gate question

As long as the boards are planed straight it will be fine. Naturally if you made a FRAMED L&B door then of course it will be sturdier. But for a garden gate it will be fine With anything like that I always use the next stock up and finish 25mm these days. Got sick of trying to plane up long...

    The wonder of the domino

I can’t praise this machine enough. If it broke tomorrow I’d buy another one in an instant. Other than amazing for jointing all sorts of timbery things, we use it loads for cutting in deadlocks & sash locks in doors. And today I used it for precision morticing of 3 solid oak newels for a set of...
