Sorry also - no need for accessories really. Had mine for years and never used an accessory.

DF500 without doubt the single most innovative and valuable powertool of the last 20 years. Period. As everyone says - 5 x 30 tennons you really don’t need much else. Kitchens, shelves, wardrobes, frames, butt joints you name it it can do it. Just so so good I would never be without mine...

    Flush cabinet doors

You don’t really need a video. Just cut the door in with a 2.5mm gap all the way around and bosh some 2.5mm flush cabinet hinges on jobs a goodun

    Tricoya for box sash

Yes and I think I shall machine a scotia on the edge of the outer cheek also for a nicer touch

Trenching was mainly for ease and consistency of assembly.

    Tricoya for box sash

:ROFLMAO: I love the idea of you being sat there for a week thinking....and then conclude that... If your referring to tricoya though think of the facts, this is a fully water proof sheet material, that has an exceptional painted finish. We can surely agree that when making a simple box that is...

    Tricoya for box sash

So here is where i'm at. Like I said, Ive made tonnes of good windows in my mere 15 years and a gizzilion sash's but this is my first proper weighted sash frame so quite looking forward to the final result. Got 15 to do and install. My initial concerns are is my cavity big enough (oo err) to be...

    Tricoya for box sash

The difference is that Accoya guarantee the timber. They will physically replace it free of charge should it rot. In this world people like guarantees. Would you guarantee every regular softwood window you ever made for 50 years against rot - Eek! Even sapele and meranti windows get swapped...

Sash windows build advice on compliance..

On a 44 / 45mm sash you can use 16mm heritage double glazing for best effect. 15mm moulding, 2mm butyl tape, 16mm glass and remainder is putty. Approx 10 - 12mm. Modifying an old sash for larger units has never worked for me tbh. Often the glue has long gone and after bashing them about they...

    Tricoya for box sash

Yes it is tedious how Accoya seem to put prices up every 4 months. Especially as we brought into the whole thing years ago and kind of based our USP around it. It’s plastered all over our website and we push hard for its use. Maybe I’ll start quoting in lam softwood again. I have always found...

    Tricoya for box sash

It is actually easier to cut 5mm deep housing / channel and then assemble. Butt jointing requires a lot of faff lining up by hand or with use of a jig. I actually think domino would be the longest method time wise

    Tricoya for box sash

It’s grown in New Zealand to start with so it’s very first journey over to Holland where it’s treated is a bit of an eye brow raiser. However, I use it for its lack of swelling and ease of machining. Almost as good as laminated softwood

    Tricoya for box sash

Got about 12 original box sash windows to make and just starting to do the drawings for them. Question - has anyone used tricoya to do this before? Once dominoed into box sections I know they will be sturdy enough for sure. I’m actually trying to think of reasons why it’s wouldnt be a good...

    New home workshop! (LBC)

So the time is fast approaching to knock this thing down and rebuild. Especially as everything in the current building is now mouldy from the cold weather: I’m going to just build stud walls, clad in 9 or 12 mm OSB, staple a vapour barrier and then clad with timber. Is that the done thing? I...

    T bar clamp coupler?

I need to purchase some T bar clamp extensions but thinking how to avoid the inevitable spend...... Something I came across that got me thinking was cramp "couplers" whereby you can join 2 cramps together. See image. Surely the same could be easily made for T bar clamps. Has anyone come...
