    Wood for bandsaw box

Very well done Oscar. That,s a great box for starters and far more complex than my first some 4 years ago. Lots of scope for the future so keep it up and have a great Christmas. Malcolm

    Festool vac

Something wrong there. In Auto, the vac should only start when a tool is plugged in and then only when the tool is switched on,. Suggest you speak with the supplier as the wiring seems wrong.

Need a flocking kit! Can you recommend one?

Depends on how much you need to do, but it goes a long way. It comes in plastic bowl with airtight lid and I mainly use black and red, although I have other colours also. One tin of adhesive will be more than needed for one 3oz colour and that will cover approx 20-30 drawers of bandsaw boxes ...

Need a flocking kit! Can you recommend one?

I also use the Turners Retreat supplies and they are very good. I have a large clear plastic box that I do the flocking in. It's then easy to gather up the excess and re pot it for next time. With box drawers, I always coat the drawer voids with two coats of sanding sealer to prevent bleeding...

    Dust mask filter replacement

Could be a good idea to change them on an annual basis anyway, as they are bound to have accumulated dust matter in them and the cost compared with good health speaks for itself.

    3M 7500 MASK PROBLEM

Thanks guys. I have managed to free it up now. Must have been an odd fault but fitted and unfitted the new filters and all working well. Just a matter of getting used to new stuff!

    Any ideas please??

Looks like some sort of security lock for windows, possibly high rise flats?

    3M 7500 MASK PROBLEM

Just started using the mask and it's good, but tried this morning to remove the triangle type (gas) filters. One was tough but OK but the other I cannot budge. Is there a knack to removal other than simply twisting? I felt that if I turned any harder, something would break. I wanted to change...

    Tree Cutting

Just a thought, I have several nice looking lengths of a Yew Tree that have been drying for over a couple of years and wondered about cutting them up. Would there be a problem with the 'slices' that instead of cutting across and then lengths, the sections were cut diagonally? Don't know if...

    DUST MASKS - again

Trevanion, many thanks. Why the hell don't 3M make that clear to buyers. UI can now look for the P3 for quick delivery.

    DUST MASKS - again

Mask and overalls delivered and seem good but have been trying to obtain additional filters, particulate P100. All the suppliers I find are with delivery end of month or later. Anyone know a quick delivery of these 3M P100 (2091) filters please

    DUST MASKS - again

Thanks Sideways. Just sent off for the 3M 7500 as there was nowhere that I could pick it up. I have also ordered a couple of the suits you use. Thanks for that

    DUST MASKS - again

Thanks again. I think I will try my waterproof golfing trousers and jacket with zip up front over some light work clothes. I can then shake it off and get rid of the top layer, then remove the mask and go in. Should be a lot better. Next step is the £M 7503 and filters tomorrow morning. Will use...

    DUST MASKS - again

Thanks very much for all the replies. I think I will try the 3M 7500 and see how I go with that one. I have also realised that I have overlooked the dust after finishing work. The process of taking off the mask after the work, BUT, then, when indoors, taking off the work clothes. I believe some...

    DUST MASKS - again

Prefer a half mask if possible as wearing glasses. Also a little unsure about the filters used with say £M 7500 with 2096 and 2097 as example. Which should I use?

    DUST MASKS - again

Updating my dust mask as I am getting some leakage somewhere as my sinuses are playing up every time I do some woodwork. I do have a sensative hooter and although I have previously been satisfied with the AirAce 2000, I'm looking for something with greater filtration. Thoughts are now on the 3M...

    Table surfacing

Just been quoted £350 for re-surfacing an antique coffee table 5 feet long by 1.5 feet. Very hard bar-top type gloss finish. Quoted that material only in 5 Ltr cans at £250 a can. What could that be? Is it a realistic quote for top quality work?
