    New bandsaw

Hi Geoff, that's good news and I'm sure you will not be dissapointed. Don't forget to buy when there is a display/show at one of the retailers to take advantage of discount and free delivery. If it's not too soon, Yandles have one on the 8-9 April. Keep us posted on this please. Malcolm

    Semi-Rigid "Pose-able" vacuum hose

I bought a couple of the colapsable/stay put hose sections and they are extreemly useful. I have one on my scrollsaw that is fixed in an S and then reduced to a hose to the vac that I can connect or not as required. Bouht mine from Axminster and they had the two sizes there at Nuneaton. Malcolm

    New bandsaw

I started with this small second hand one and managed to make a number of boxes That did me for a while with a Tuffsaw 1/4" blade, but a bit tricky getting the guides in place. When I moved to a larger size bandsaw, it make all the difference with a 1/8" blade and I managed to sell the old one...

    newbie here saying hello

Hi darloray and welcome, I suggest that you don't use all your cash reserve on a hobby, particularly if you have just moved house and don't know what expences may crop up unexpectedly. It's not just buying the machine, but the additional costs that you would need on a regular basis, blades...

    Sand paper

Nothing as good as Abranet and I will not return to the old sandpapers now, the difference is outstanding and practical. http://www.axminster.co.uk/mirka-abrane ... m-ax851873 Malcolm

    Bandsaw blade change ideas.

I don't know your particular model of bandsaw, but am surprised that any bandsaw requires the removal of the fence to facilitate changing blades. Usually it is a table stability bar connecting either side of the slot under the table to undo, then the blade should slide out. A photo would help...

    Bird House

Great job Pete, but I agree with Brian, the birds may feel it's a bit like a scarecrow, but very different5. Perhaps the bird will be a bit cukoo Malcolm

    ARE YOU THICK

That made me smile Brian. Quite happy with 3/4", but 2mm x 80mm is rather tricky. Hope you had it in something (clamp) to stay verticle and protect the digets? Malcolm

    timber for bandsaw boxes

I find that for me, one day is sufficient but it depends on wether you want to see all the demonstrations or just the odd one or two. They are usually very good shows, but best to get there 'before time' to sort out your timber and there are usually plenty of trollys available to load up. Make...
