    Which screws?

Don't know if this is a good price, or includes screws you don't need, but noticed this offer the other day http://www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk/prod ... ester_pack

    Sloppy rawl in brickwork

Possibly also consider a reeled hosepipe with short piece of hose connector, would remove a lot of the stresses on the tap.

    New website

A bit late to this one, but like others, one of my major gripes that would put me off a company is spelling, grammar and layout on a website. I haven't been through all of it, but in the Case Studies section you have the following cabinetry from £15000 inc. VAT Cabinetry from£15,000 inc. VAT...

Small Garden Workshop Build & Tour

Very neat & tidy, am organising the shed at the moment. Can I ask what you are using to hang your cramps/clamps, is it custom made by yourself, or off the shelf? Thanks.

    Large Screen Smart 3D TV

Not seen it mentioned, but consider audio quality too. The super thin TVs are appealing, but clearly leave little space for speakers and audio can be compromised. Some manufacturers now offer 'sound bars' to compensate. If you don't want to go down that route then consider a fatter panel which...

    Help identifying fixing please

Yes, they have a hex socket - all done, bed is back together, first night in our new house. Thanks to all.

    Help identifying fixing please

Fixed - seems the technique, which was probably obvious, is to hold lengthwise in the pliers, the thread bites into the grooves of the plier's jaws and then locks, and without doing much damage at all.

    Help identifying fixing please

Thanks also Andrew, looks like Screwfix is the place to try.

    Help identifying fixing please

Thanks Steve, that will help if I have to go looking for replacements. I have had a go using pliers but have been wary of damaging the thread, but as you say it is quite coarse and would probably bear a little damage. I have them soaking up some WD40 at the moment so will try again.

    Help identifying fixing please

These fixings are from a bed, it was taken apart and put into storage. The movers put the screws back in for safekeeping but it seems like they overdid it and now when I remove the screw the whole fixing comes out. I have tried WD40, and might try a little heat next, but if I can't get the...

    dealing with subsidence

My parents suffered from subsidence under their extension. I seem to remember the movement measure attached to the wall for quite some time, could well have been a year or so. Presumably that was to determine once any movement had stabilised. The room was then underpinned. The insurance company...

    is honesty the best policy

Interesting Andy, no not seen that. I have used a couple of products from Travena - Pond Relief and Oxygenator - cleared (admittedly a relatively small pond) in less than a week. The dead weed is a little unsightly, but the pond vacuum takes care of that. We know we need to plant the pond out to...

    is honesty the best policy

As an aside, we have an Oase Pondovac and it's very good, copes with the large amount of blanket weed we get, but it is quite a slow process. I've now found a very good treatment for the weed though, so it gets less use.

    Amazing staircases

Probably something like this, here the treads are welded to the steel beams running up the walls. then bricked in like this then the steelwork is plastered over to make them float. The wooden treads are slotted over the steel treads (in the picture the treads are temporary ply)

    ez one system

Ones that would otherwise require a tablesaw and router table That's an individual's value judgement call Dyson? The editorial is an independent review Don't think anyone will argue with that in particular EurekaZone. You're sure of that how? People use EZ to make panel saw systems...

    ez one system

Yes, as a novice woodworker, I liked the idea of it, it seemed to offer lots of flexibility and is potentially safer than a table saw (don't wish to open a can of worms here, that's my opinion only). With one well designed bench you can cut, rout, plane, sand etc. I started with the smart table...

    Sky box connection

It's mandatory for multi-room, they use it to confirm that both boxes are at the same address to prevent someone getting a cheap box/subscription to use somewhere else.
